Twice this venomous viper has evaded review. She jumps out and thrashes, coils round and inculcates. A devil of a bite too! Seductive, deceptive nose of caramel creme, rosemary, bay leaf and cinnamon roll. Palatal acupuncture ensues, as you slowly succumb to the hot cinnamon oil and scotch bonnet burn of the first phase. Phase two brings cinnamon and grilled peach with brown sugar cobbles and scotch bonnet honey. And finally the nose and close converge in satin vanilla, cinnamon, cracked black pepper and ginger. .

Visited the Jameson Distillery while in Dublin. Was an interesting experience.
This whiskey is matured in charred bourbon barrels.
Nose - banana and toffee. Palate- caramel and toasted oak.
Makes a good cocktail with fresh lime and ginger ale.

A sweet and fruity start that leaves little bitterness. A semi-spicy finish. Cherries and peppercorn. — 4 years ago
I opened this with some friends and it was alongside a 2003 Saxum Bone Rock (good, drink up), 2013 Donelan Obsidian (wow! Cayuse like), a 2013 SQN Le Supplement (massive and spectacular), and a 2016 The Third Twin Nuestra (feral, wild, cerebral).
While this was a fantastic bottle, I think it’s going to get slightly better (it bulked up and added a touch more of everything on day two). Undeniably Cayuse in style, but more northern Rhône Syrah than new world Syrah. Aromatically you are hit with that classic funk that Cayuse is known for...black olive, iron, mineral, and fox fur. Not sure of the whole cluster use here but it comes across as fairly strong/green with fruit notes of underripe black cherry. The splash of Viognier that Cayuse utilizes for their Cailloux makes this so perfumed. On the palate, it really shines showing iron, teriyaki, and olive tapenade. The savoriness of these wines meshes well with the fruit as age sets in and the fruit returns towards the back of the palate...blackberry, mulberry, and spicy rhubarb pie. Fantastic now, possibly outstanding in the next 2-3yrs. If opening soon, decant a couple hours and you’ll be golden. — 4 years ago
Smells of age and wisdom.
(Cigarette smoke and hazelnut?)
Medium in weight and delicious bright stone fruits- red cherry, pluot raspberry, a hint of sweetness and curry in the middle, and a licorice and black raspberry acidity bringing an end to this Fox trot, and a wildly lovely rollercoaster ride of flavours. — 3 years ago
WOTD at a dinner with Kelley Fox in Chicago. Bright, bracing, vibrant for such a young wine. Powered by electric acidity with sweet strawberry, black cherry and baking spices. Long, lingering finish... lovely with green chili perk shoulder. And Kelley Fox is so funny in person. — 5 years ago

A more nose-shy KFW offering - subtle cherry, raspberry, black tea, cola nut on the nose. Lively, tart palate, lovely sip-friendly palate texture, touch of spice towards the finish, faint tannins. #eolaamityhills — 9 months ago
