Mineral, salty, herbal, grassy.
Green apples, cut grass, salty rocks, an enticing mineral character.
On the palate this is fresh, mineral, with interesting herby, butter edges and a racy underripe lemon acidity. Energetic, zingy, herby, mineral. Delicious. And soo food friendly!

Vintage 2019 | a favorite producer of mine. 100% Cabernet franc, vines 25 a 40 years old. Bio wine. It is so much fun to taste the difference between Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil and for example Saumur Champigny. Pop and pour. Frivolous raspberry bouquet, gains expression with aeration. It’s not the power that catches the eye, but finesse and elegance. Medium weight. Lovely now, paired with ostrich stew and mixed vegetables from the oven. Happy. — a month ago
Awesome. Balanced. — 11 days ago
Bio/organic practices with indigenous yeast, granitic soils. Great savory herbaceous basil, spice, dark fresh fruit, a little chocolate after being opened for awhile, some tannins well integrated. Delicious and food friendly — 2 months ago

The 2021 Grillo seduces with its sweetly floral and green citrus tinged bouquet, as crushed rocks give way to honeysuckle and lemon custard. A core of sour lime and melon tones add contrast. The palate is left reeling with mouthwatering tension and a lingering minty herbal streak. $19.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2022) — 8 hours ago
