Deep ruby, well balanced with floral notes and hints of vanilla. Very nice RRPN! — 9 months ago
This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Aromas of sweet black fruits with floral and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry & blueberry with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine rustic tannins, long savory ending with fruit, spice and cedar character. — 3 years ago

I was on set for several rather emotionally and physically grueling action packed shooting so I deserved a little treat and by little treat mean a bottle of bubbles (and a session of smushing my face into my cat). This British bubbly is rich (riper than I’d imagine from that extra-cool climate) but also refreshing and zingy—beyond all the oxidative appley nutty notes is a punch of sweet citrus that is quite beguiling. A touch of quality white bread on the nose too. It keeps giving. — 10 months ago
The label was soiled when I received the order. I was immediately concerned regarding the contents. Happily, the wine was in pristine nick. Forest floor and cinnamon nose transitioned to the signature gnarly, textured dark fruit, smoke, and spice box presentation. I’m going to hold some of these Astons and see what happens. Intro’d to this by @Bill Bender, this has become my fave Cali pinot. Every vintage comes correct. — 4 years ago
Notes of baked apples, white peach, butterscotch, and vanilla with hints of cinnamon and fresh pineapple. — 6 months ago
Cherry compote, black currant and smoky mulberry; light leather and English tea notes. Lavender and cassis. Black currant dominates a palate rife with smoky blackberry and dark tobaccos, bakers chocolate and dark raisins. Decidedly rich and adumbral.

Shows very well, I’d challenge to distinguish from solid grower champagne. Yellow flowers, lemon, a touch of underripe stone fruit. Very good backbone if a bit young on the autolysis integration — 4 months ago
