2016. Black cherry, roast tomatoes, oregano, tobacco, black pepper. Still tastes young and tannic. Bet it will be fantastic in 10 years. — 4 years ago
Late into our Zoom Happy Hour, we decided to open up The Bard. Since I only have older vintages of Realm (yeah, I know: poor me), I decided on the 2008. From the nose and palate I would have bet anything that this had a fair amount of cab franc in the blend, but it’s mainly cab sauvignon with about 15% petite verdot and a little malbec, I think. Anyway, this is holding up really well - and never lost a beat over several hours. I know their more recent vintages are knocking it out of the park in terms of scores, but if you have any bottles from their earlier years (first vintage of Realm was 2002), do yourself a favor and pull out one of these older bottles. They’re really good and will remind you that they were still making some pretty damn good juice before they got too cool for school. — 5 years ago
Found this bottle during my “stay at home and go through your wine” time. Would have bet the house it was dead - but no - still there - barely! But a nice surprise. Cheers!! — 6 years ago
From magnum. Had it next to the stylistically similar Fourrier Gevrey VV, but this was the better wine for me - it had a little more depth and texture. Started of similarly reductive, but quickly opened up to scents of roses, intense red cherry, and smoky insence. The palate's velvety, mix of red and dark fruits, rich but offers lots of freshness with its crisp acidity. Minerality plays second fiddle at the moment, but is evident in the long spicy finish. I bet this was how it looked like when it was first bottled, so time can only make it better. 1er level for sure!
NB: From WH - This plot is located on the southern side of Griotte-Chambertin alongside the Claude Dugat plot and below the Duroché plot of Griottes-Chambertin. It is quite strange that this vineyard has been classified as village as it’s located so close to the Grand Crus. — 7 years ago

Yummy lychee nose grapefruit sensuous exotic lingering on the palate — a year ago
After the Sicilian off dry white which I drank only a glass of in disappointment, I decided to open something I knew would make me happy. We are watching Dunkirk while drinking this wine and the contrast between the on-screen drama and the funky liveliness in the glass is stunning!
As usual the nose is a bit funky at fist and takes a good 20 to 30 minutes to set into place. Then it's violet, blueberry, clay, that iron thing too, which I always smell in this cuvée, no matter the vintage. The palate is big, bright and fruity. There are blueberry notes all along, some cherry too. Some width, a nice and soft mouthfeel, some tannins in the rear, and a really nice anf long finish with fruits, some pepper, and a nice tannic layer. There is a subtle savory note too, almost meaty, that makes it more complex than you would have bet at first. Of course this is, as always, a very biased review, but I mean, what's not to like there? — 2 years ago
A safe bet for gifts on this price range , excellent benefit cost ratio. — 5 years ago
Always a good bet. Both Barthod and Les Bons Batons. — 6 years ago

Very good. I bet this will last many more years. — 7 years ago
So so so yummy. A sure bet if you want something you can drink with friends. The bubbles don’t keep, but it’s so yummy and light, even just two people could easily get through a bottle 😂 — 2 years ago
Much brighter than I had in memory from prev vintages. Red fruit with crunchy cherry, some blackberry & blackcurramt emerge after some time, the wine quiets with time and starts showing more Bordeaux blend characteristics.
Nice mouthfeel, juicy, fresh, the tannins surprisingly present & vibrant. Nice earthy, leathery accent towards the finish adds complexity.
A safe bet with a steak that rarely disappoints. — 3 years ago

Once decanted, magnificent. Full mouth of luscious dark berries with a lingering finish that begs for the next sip. Wonderful with red sauce on pasta. A great complement to nearly any Italian meal. If decanted for a couple hours, my bet is most of the other lower rated reviews would be much improved. Doesn’t need more bottle time. Just needs to be enjoyed! (And it requires food to bring out its depth and character the most! If I may be so bold, I recommend your favorite pasta with Emeril’s vodka sauce. Cannot beat it.) — 7 years ago

This is a very good white wine. It’s a semi-dry wine in my opinion. Not oaky or buttery. Just a middle of the road taste that is surprisingly excellent. I was caught off guard by the carbonation but it’s subtle. Nothing like a Champaign. — 8 days ago
