50/50 blend of Nerello Capuccio and Nerello Mascalese. Bright ruby color with hints of purple. Fruit forward aromas of bright cherry and blackberry. Hint of red/purple flowers. Popped and poured; enjoyed over a 90 minute period. No formal notes. Slightly deeper in color than the Benanti enjoyed before and there’s a bit more depth in general when comparing the two. Ripe strawberries and cherries. Savory. Good structure. Drinking well now but this has the stuffing to mature gracefully over the next decade. — 2 years ago
