Baron Des Tours

Château des Tours

Réserve Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2019

Very round full bodied Rhône. Majority Grenache, drinks beautifully now but can age easily another 10 years. Dry, mouthfillling, garigue on nose and palate. — 17 days ago

Château Rayas

Château Des Tours Réservé Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2019

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner at Le Mazenay. The 2019 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe mixed brambles, some dried red and purple flowers, a touch of VA, some black pepper, some anise and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A fantastic pairing with partridge. Already showing very well in its youth. Drink now through 2034+. — a month ago

Vintage be damned. Could it have more tannin, sure, but everything was in harmony and easy to enjoy. — 3 days ago

Château de Montfaucon

Vin de Monsieur Le Baron de Montfaucon Red Rhone Blend 2012

Lovely aged red Rhone, this wine has 15 varietals (red and white) co-fermented and aged 12 months in oak barriques, 14% ABV, though no hint of too much, great balance and complexity, lingering finish, very fine and Special!! — 14 days ago

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron

Les Tourelles de Longueville Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

After 10 years in the bottle, a decidedly savory second wine from this storied Second Growth château. Meaty, almost Northern Rhône character after uncorking. After a day in wine fridge the charcuterie notes ease a bit, blackberry, stewed cassis start to edge forward, classic #pauillac graphite and mineral notes that carry through on palate. Lovely tension on the palate and persistent fine tannins through the finish. — 8 days ago

Blanco Reserva Tres Viñas Rioja Viura Blend

Great wine combining southern burgundy richness, use of luxurious oak, great acidity and low alc levels. Wonder how this ages.. Tx @Jan A for pointing this one out!. — 18 days ago
