This is a punchy 6.8% but very moreish ale. Brewed for Easter, as the marketing says harking back to the strong ales brewed by the monks for feast days, this is a strong, dark amber, full bodied ale. It is malty with a good sweetness that balances the sweet malty sugars with the aroma of hops (Fuggle, Pilgrim, Cascade and Golding), and for me, a deep caramel aroma too.
It is is brewed with the local Sussex spring water Harvey's has used for over two centuries. — a month ago
A favourite of mine. Golden, light but with a subtle grapefruit taste. Not at the more "hoppy" end of the beer market, and this one sits nicely between the more malted, lightly hopped ales and those of the US style IPA type beers.
Goes very well with good old British chips and a jumbo sausage sans batter. — 3 months ago
Sharp, mealy bouquet. A little off aromatic for the typical Moschofilero. Although, strong scent of pineapple cores.
Organic, no additives, and the oldest importer of the varietal to the states. Super pineappley, bracing acidity, feels very old world authentic. Like I’m in Greece and this is the one they would serve at the table overlooking the teal expanse of ocean.
Slight licorice that balances out the sweetness.
Interesting and wonderful. — 2 months ago

Hailing from CT, this is a flyweight IPA, with a subtle sake twist. It’s dry, clean and light on its feet. At 4.2% abv, it makes for a refreshing add to my repertoire. — 4 months ago
This is a delicious complex Chablis that is vibrant despite (or perhaps due to) being released 14 years after the vintage! Golden straw colored; super fresh nose of honeysuckle and pear; melon, crisp minerality. Perhaps a touch thin compared to the other ales Lys I have tried. But great nonetheless with years to spare. — a month ago
Fantastic new sour from Jolly Pumpkin (new for me, anyway). This is a collaboration between JP and Baston Brewery, it’s a blend of JP’s La Roja and Baston’s Nectar Des Dieux Triple. Super complex with layers of molasses, brown sugar, chocolate, but also the acidity of La Roja. One of the most interesting JPs I’ve had in a while. — 3 months ago
Surprisingly well structured for age. Just on downward slide, but still balanced fruit, acid and tannin. Very enjoyable — 4 months ago
