Very fresh nose - green vines and fresh air, a bit of acetone. Red fruit, nice but not terribly complex. — 6 months ago
Excellent cooler-climate styled Nebbiolo. Great acidity, texture and length. Nice herbal / black tea undertones with cherry fruit on top. Yum. — a year ago
Perfect with iberico. We all liked this. Tätä voisi juoda vaikka jouluna kinkun kanssa. — 4 years ago
New-mown hay, blackberry brambles on the nose. Intensely fruit forward, but not sweet or cloying. Raspberries and blackberries. Light tannic structure, with mint and back pepper low notes, but it develops a pleasing minerality on its surprisingly long finish. I don’t know anything about this vintage, but it seems like it was grown on volcanic soils. The front reminds me of a Beaujolais Nouveau, but the finish is much more complex. A unique profile combination that I’ve never tasted before. Lovely. — 2 months ago

These are some of my favorite Mountain Nebbiolo. ArPePe actually ages the Riserva before releasing. — 6 months ago
It’s hard to find fully shed classic Viura (white Rioja) anymore but old-school Lopez de Heredia clings to tradition. This wine, nearly 10 years old on release, is fascinating - aged to the point of considerable oxidation yet it retains its fruit ands acidity. Bruised apple, ripe pear, golden raisin, orange peel, flint, wet stones, and hay happily coexist with hazelnut, dried orange peel, coconut, baking spices ands more. The medium acidity is a firm foundation to a richly textured wine, Long finish too! — 9 months ago
14.8% abv. Tasty. Dark thick fruits taste. Intense but pleasant. — 4 years ago
Blend of Tempranillo and Graciano. Medium ruby color with a dark core and orange rim. Aromas of coffee, leather, ripe red fruit, wet stones and forest floor. Flavors of black berry/currant/plum fruit, black licorice, balsamic vinegar and roasted meat and nuts. Long earthy and slightly spicy finish. Pleasant acidity and silky (but slightly chalky) tannins. Full bodied, round and elegant. Beautifully aged. Thanks for sharing, Keith S! Happy 60th Birthday, Karyn! — 2 months ago
Great Amarone! — 6 months ago
ask the wine guy for something unusual, something off the beaten path and he recommends this delicious dry 100% Palomino w/some bottle age: definitely a food wine, light greenish straw color w/fairly austere nose full of minerals, lanolin, herbaceous musk, white flowers (jasmine), ginger & some spices. on palate it is rigid & angular, zesty acidity, some citrus but mostly minerals & herbs, quinine, screams for briny foods - we had this w/deli section fare & salad. — 8 months ago
Herbaceous. Great with Thanksgiving dinner. — 2 years ago

2021. This inexpensive (~$10 on discount) Monastrell/Syrah paired great with some locally made Merguez sausages. — 2 months ago
