This is the wine we choose every single time at Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's abt a $50 bottle after Dianey's markup. It's not something I'd buy to drink at home. — 7 years ago
— 8 years ago

Nariz: ciruela y otras frutas negras maduras. Algo de aromas barnyard y animal.
Boca: en boca bastante especiado, pimienta etc. Tanino M+ pero ya mas resueltos, Acidez M, Alcohol M+ — 9 years ago
Excellent — 5 years ago
Austere at first, thought maybe the fruit was gone but just needed an hour of air. Consider drinking soonish though. Tastes like lots of Grenache and lots of whole clusters. Leads with leather, animal, dried herbs, coffee grounds and eventually dark red cherries in syrup and cinnamon red hots enter the mix. Clearly from warmer southerly / mediterranean climes but there is still a sense of freshness and acidity here — 6 years ago

A meaty, savory pleasure with kalamata olives, cured meat, dark woody fruit, and a healthy dose of animal musk or wet dog that almost reminds me of Savoie. A nice twist on a Rhône Syrah enjoyed with crackers and gruyere. — 9 years ago
Chave cherry popped tonight. Dense and wound up. So young. Behind the tight coil there was a tease of what it will become. Complex and layered. Smoked meat, crushed rock, iron, violet, black tea, leather, animal hide, cracked pepper, and this super savory/umami character I can't get out of my head. Structured and firm but still displaying a considerable finesse to the tannins. Textural juxtapositions abound. This wine has so much soul. — 9 years ago

Garnet-tiled, murky, deep dress.Clos de Gat is an area of Judea in Israel. With two hours of aeration, the primary notes, generous very ripe and animal fruits mix well with the notes of aging and spices. We are not far from a Cornas or other wine from the North Rhône with the intensity of the Israeli sun. The notes of evolution go perfectly with the bouquet.

Meaty, peppery, animal nose, with a palate of cherry and black peppercorns. Slightly gravelly. Smooth tannins, and long finish. — 5 years ago
Full of flavour very rich — 7 years ago
Animal flavor. Leather. Still elegant and acidic. But when opening, cork stripped to inside of bottle. That means. 1982 @, Kai - JH, 190406-190601 — 7 years ago
Animal like nose, lovely entry and mid palate. Delicious and fine aftertaste — 8 years ago
More subdued than a bottle I had last winter. Still, it was pretty with red fruit and an animal/meaty characteristic. Mid palate was noticeably hollow. — 9 years ago
