Amazing wine tasted at Festa Barolo 2024. Everything great about a classic Barolo is here with many years ahead of it. Red cherry mint tobacco orange peel rose petals. Tannins beginning to unwind. My first taste of a Bussia Barolo.

Tenuta Roncaglia Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Great Nebbiolo color. Dry leaves and ripe strawberry nose. Lots of tannins, but fade nicely. The Albeisa embossing was new to me, researched that 17 million bottles have been identified this way. Gotta catch up! — 7 months ago

Prachiosso Roero Nebbiolo 2020

Light in body, yet robust in flavor. A ruby red hue with medium body and nose like fresh cut red fruit, and slight pepper spice. Acidity is bright and sharp, could use a year or 2 of age, with notes of slightly underripe strawberries, black cherries and red berries, white pepper, slate and a long dry finish that feels almost like menthol or mint, but not as specific. — 3 months ago

TASTE: as nose - but with more dark fruit than you’d expect…plus cooked meat and cedar. Plenty of tannin. Good! 91.
