1999 vintage. Pascal Montaut is one of the greatest winemakers in Blaye ( Jonqueyres), but he is currently retired and sold his estate. Up to the final 2010 vintage, he also produced a microscopic quantity of an atypical Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Côtes de Bourg that tastes more like a Saint-Estèphe. Superb quality in this generally mediocre vintage. Still a solid colour. Cassis, graphite, leather and subtle floral hints.. Amazingly fresh and vibrant in the mouth with juicy black fruit in a ripe tannic frame and a longfinish with retronasal fruit and dark chocolate. Impressive. Abv. 13,5%. — a year ago

Found this 2022 pleasing. Not trying to be a new world SB. Steely , bright, tart orchard fruits with hints of lime and quince. Wish the price was lower than $39. — a month ago
Dry and mineralogy. Chalk soils. Very drinkable. Drunk in the kitchen with Lara. — 3 years ago
Mid Lemon in colour. Vanilla oak aromas - peachy and rich. On the palate yellow peach and cream with Medium plus intensity. This style was popular in Australia in the 80’s and 90’s - think Rosemount Roxburgh and coined the style as “Dolly Parton” for obvious reasons. For lovers of full bodied Chardonnay. I hadn’t had a Chardonnay like this for a while and it was enjoyable. Ripe fruit, a touch too much oak and a great viscous texture on the palate. One of the 1001 Wines. — 4 years ago

2021 vintage. Light-medium body. Unexpected amounts of complexity and length of finish for the next tier up with Sancerre. Decidedly not a fan of Sancerre but this (begrudgingly) didn't suck. 3.20.24. — a month ago
