If you didn’t tell me what it was, I’d have guessed top Amarone. — 3 months ago
Must love roasted veggies. But this has shed some of its oak and youthful reduction. In a good spot with another 5-10 years of interest. — 6 months ago
I’ve loved the wines from Alpha Estate for years but this was the first time trying the SMX blend. It did not disappoint. Full-bodied and dark, it produced flavors of blackberry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, and earth. Definitely needed some air before opening up fully, but it could have spent another couple of years in the bottle. 60% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 20% Xinomavro. 4/29/25. — 2 months ago
Dark, viscous motor oil and blackberry. Tasty, but needs another 8yr or so. — 3 months ago
Once again, they were out of the wine I ordered and offered this. Once again, a nice choice. Great with the braised pork shank. — 5 months ago
Lush, full-bodied wine. Blackberry jam, dark chocolate, and a hint of spice. — 2 months ago
Tasted in 2019 and thought it needed 3+ years, well worth the 6 years, softened nicely but still has time left — 3 months ago
What’s not to like about this BDX blend from WA! Not overdone or overextracted (oak definitely there but integrated) but very generous aromatics & flavors on palate. Red & black fruit, warm spice, distinct cassis, minerality & earthiness like loam & soil goodness. Sturdy tannins, bit hi ABV - sometimes lumbering, but a really impressive & persistent finish. Bump for QPR — 5 months ago
Nice citrus flavor and nose. Good but not special. Great value under $20. — 6 months ago

Lovely wine. Paired with venison. Decanted for a couple of hours. Full-bodied. Dark cherries, blackberries, a hint of dark chocolate, and Smokey. Very satisfying. — 2 days ago
