Dead Guy Ale

In the style of a German Maibock, a deep honey color with a toffee aroma and a balanced malt/bitter ratio.

Ferus Artisan Ales Order of Magnitude

Order of Magnitude by Edmund's Oast Brewing Company is a Sour beer made in collaboration with Ferus Artisan Ales. Tart and fruity with mango and guarva abound. A very good beer for this type. @Delectable Wine — 7 years ago

Agreed, the can exudes sophistication... For a beer. I don't think I have tried Canadian beers but I have family in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal so I should visit and get through many!

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales

Noel de Calabaza Special Ale 2011

This is a bottle that Vanessa was given by a former student who was apparently trying to clear out his cellar. Bottled on October 4, 2011, this is the best incarnation of Noel de Calabaza that I’ve ever had. Incredible balance, great secondary aromas, and a finish that lasts far longer than younger versions of this beer. Just goes to show how awesome JPs can become if you hide them away for a few years. — 8 years ago

La Roja Grand Reserve Artisan Amber Ale 2014

Wow. Basically La Roja on steroids, this has all of the great characteristics of La Roja but amped up, while at the same time better integrated. The sourness is beautifully balanced by some vanilla (presumably from the oak barrels, but who knows), as well as lingering hints of caramel that help to sustain a long finish. Definitely a notch above the regular bottling, this one is a treat! — 9 years ago

Perennial Artisan Ales

Abraxas 2020

One of the best. Love the chili pepper flavor with dark and milk chocolates. Cinnamon and vanilla are secondary. The spice is what sets this apart from other beers in this style. Needs no pairing. — 5 years ago

@P A Indeed cheers! Had to laugh as our daughter recently attended a fund raiser at the university. She said "you raised the bar high with your beer selections. Couldn't find a decent ale all night." 😁

@MaJ CappS Funny isn't it? Pay phones quickly becoming a relic of the past.

@DC Radisson Cheers and thanks!🍻

Prairie-Vous Francais Farmhouse Ale

9.1

A touch cloudy lemon yellow in appearance with a medium white head. A bit stinky with a touch of citrus rind and hay. Smooth and crisp mouthfeel with some funkiness and stone fruits. Medium length finish. Perfect Saison for people new to the style. — 8 years ago

La Rola du Kriek Sour Amber Ale 2016

A little disappointed with this incarnation (although it improved considerably with more time in the glass). Flavors were definitely muted. Might need some more time in bottle, but this was the weakest of the three JPs we opened tonight. — 8 years ago

Oro de Calabaza Artisan Golden Ale 2013

Part of a bunch of older JPs that Vanessa found, this is awesome. SO much better than when this is first released, this has a subtle complexity to it that makes it seem more like a fine white wine than beer. Fantastic. — 8 years ago
