Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 “Cottà” pours a light garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with pretty notes of raspberry and strawberry, rhubarb, roses, dried herbs, cool spices and dry rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and delightful. The quality of fruit was outstanding. Absolutely delicious. Drink now with patience through 2040. — 4 months ago
I was pleasantly surprised that we hadn’t held this 2015 vintage too long; it was ready to drink. Velvety smooth, perfect with any red sauce Italian dish. — a year ago

Opened the precious day and kept in the wine fridge overnight. The 2021 “La Rocca” pours a straw color with medium- viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with cheese and melons: cantaloupe, musk melon, Taleggio and Pecorino Romano with some lemon and raw almonds. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and there’s palpable texture. A fun wine and more interesting than most Gavi’s I’ve had recently. This is 100% Cortese sourced from their vineyards in Barbaresco and San Rocco Seno d’Alba; fermented and aged in French oak barriques. Drink now. — 4 months ago
