Le Vin des Amis Syrah 2015

More mature than LBT. Fruit is muddling together, more stewed black and blue fruit, leather and white pepper, dried shitake, dried mint, cowshit, medicinal, loads of savory hung meat. Beautiful profile on the palate. Generous mid-palate, very suave tannins, but very much has its rustic edge still. Very coalesced at the moment and going strong. — 2 months ago

La Souteronne Vin de Pays de l'Ardèche Gamay

Crushed rock and so juicy — matching the dried cranberries in my salad. Love it. Perfect for slurping during the hot summer holiday! — 3 months ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1982

From an owc this had a polished feel showing mostly black fruit, graphite, sweet & savory spice with leather & tobacco notes. Many good years ahead. — 21 days ago

I have been sitting on 2 bottles that do not look as pristine as that one. You are making me consider opening one…

Domaine de la Grange des Pères

Vin de Pays de l'Hérault White Rhone Blend 2014

Always such a singular wine. It has the weight and richness of a white Rhône, with the acid and mineral tension of a great white burg. I like to say “Chaveneau.” It’s stunningly aromatic with layered depth and complexity, wafting from the glass with ripe tropical fruit, hazelnut, wildflower honey and pastry cream. The palate is rich and intense, but retains focus and balance along with killer volume, an elegant texture and excellent length. I continue to prefer GDP blanc to the rouge. — a month ago

Cuvelier Los Andes

Grand Vin Red Blend 2015

Definitely needed to breathe. 30 min later, an outstanding sort-of Bordeaux blend, heavy on the Malbec. Distinct plum, earth notes, with structure and balance. Very well made. Bottle #2. — 2 months ago
