It was half price with free shipping so I had to try it despite the vintage, Parker 96 This just arrived today, I’ll save the other bottle to rest a bit The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Guest Cottage is a blend of Beau Vigne's two estate properties located on Silverado Trail, one west of Soda Canyon and the other being Stag’s Ridge Vineyard, which sits at 1,400 feet in elevation. It is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak. — 15 days ago
My first Turbiana, or Trebbiano di Lugana but genetically a Verdicchio.
Nose of ripe stone fruits, lemon zest, wet stone, light white floral, and hint of almond. Medium to full body. Firm, vivid acidity provides good tension to the otherwise textured palate, finished with a medium mineral note.
This old vine riserva bottling is like a hybrid between Napa chard and Chablis. Will need to taste more Turbiana. — 5 days ago
The palate on this was rocking from the first minute in the decanter but the nose took some time to come around. Initially the nose was very balsamic and one dimensional but over the course of 90 minutes it developed scents of forest floor, dusty mahogany, and macerated cherry. Palate is amazing, with intense, sweet dark cherry fruit, moist humus, savory minerals, and old barrel notes. Great concentration counterbalanced with softness of texture and decent acids. Great length and purity. Superb. — 13 days ago
I love this cuvee. I was worried that 09 was too forward of a vintage for this wine, but that was silly. On the nose: vanilla cream, sweet lemon chiffon, airy wet stone...fantastically lifted aromatically. On the palate, lovely acidty, baked apple, lemon custard, caramel, soft mousse, a touch of oxidative copper, and a very clean, finish. Absolutely lovely champagne. — 6 days ago
Perfect food wine, enjoyed with some Osso Bucco, just so well balanced it flowed perfectly! — 13 days ago
