Very much like a new world Chardonnay with that generous Macon nature. In a blind tasting I could easily pick this as Australian and be wrong. Peachy notes with lemon. Touch of pineapple juice. Vines are apparently 50 years of age and the wine sees 20% new oak. Drinks to its price point. Opened my final bottle 19 weeks later on 1st April 2022 with consistent notes. Very new world in style with notes of pineapple juice. Drinks to its price point of $44. — 8 months ago
深い黄金色。熟成感のある蜜の香り。絶妙なトースト香に余韻のある蜜の味わい。時間が経つにつれて深みが増すが、常にバランスのよい酸。@RNSQエネレスク12,000 at restaurant — 2 years ago
From the northern Macon and from the excellent 2014 vintage for White Burgundy. Initially notes of pineapple juice, a touch of mango and other tropical fruits. Clean unadulterated fruit - this wine doesn’t see any oak. The free run juices are vinified in Guffens horizontal stainless steel tanks. A textured creaminess on the palate which is amazing given the lack of wood - allows the excellent fruit to shine together with mineral overtones. Great value at $41 AUD. Will look for this in the future. — 6 months ago

Extraordinary white Burgundy from Guffens’ Mâconnais-based négociant business Verget, made from Chardonnay grown in Le Corton. Beautiful golden color. Quite rich and evolved, with complex aromas of dried and exotic fruits, chamomile and honeyed notes. Pure, rich, lively, mineral. Incredible freshness even 25 years after the vintage — 3 months ago

My white of the night, even though my guess for it as a blind missed the mark. Once more, the influence of sight led me astray, with the exposed Stelvin cap popping out of the blind sleeve leading me to identify it as an Australian Chardonnay. In my defense, the ripeness of the fruit does fit the guess. If anything, it just reaffirms my view that global warming (and the homogenisation of styles) has been making it harder and harder to discern new and old world wines as of late. That topic aside, this wine was just so digestible. Long with strong salinity, laser-like acidity, and luscious mouthfeel. There’s a mix ripe stone and zesty citrus fruits here, along with nutty, woody, and spicy nuances. The only element that irks me is a touch of muskiness which I attribute to some level of premox. Other than that, there’s richness, intensity, and precision here - all the hallmarks of a great wine. Delicious, and finished in no time at all. — 20 days ago
