Butter and hazelnuts aromas. Gentle drink on its own. Had a burger with it. Then later had pizza and a whole bunch of cooked vegetables with it. This was a great food wine. Seemingly delicate on its own but really giving way as a compliment to everything on the table. Well made. At 16 years old and 9 more bottles in my cellar I’m not concerned with drinking this quickly. Doesn’t seem like it’s aged much unless there was a vivacity in its youth that has just simply calmed down. Surely a great table wine with lots of class. — 5 months ago

深い黄金色。熟成感のある蜜の香り。絶妙なトースト香に余韻のある蜜の味わい。時間が経つにつれて深みが増すが、常にバランスのよい酸。@RNSQエネレスク12,000 at restaurant — 6 months ago
beau Chardonnay bourguignon, notes briochées, droit, amers agréables. — 7 months ago
I feel like the verset wines are better than ever. This one ranks up there with denogent. It’s so pure and refined with abundant fruit but also laser like precision. A little oak shows but it doesn’t take away from the purity, rather helps showcase the fruit. Really nice. I can see why pouilly fuisse (when all things were equal) rivaled the best from the cote de beaune in popular opinion — 6 months ago
16.5 a bit disappointing. Correct, but no more. — 8 months ago
I’ll go back to drinking more CA Chardonnay when pigs fly like the top right photo.
This was under $40 and still better than any CA Chardonnay I’ve truly enjoyed. I may have given out slightly higher scores or similar scores in previous CA Chardonnay notes but, it was more for their technical achievement for the varietal within region(s).
The nose reveals; green & golden apple, lemon flesh, pineapple juice, lime zest to candy, kiwi, underripe green melon, cream, light, fresh herbs, candle wax, honeysuckle, white spice, refined chalkiness, gritty volcanic minerals, sea fossils, saline, yellow lilies, fruit blossoms, spring flowers & mix greens.
The body is; full, oily with nice viscosity. Green & golden apple, lemon flesh, pineapple juice, lime zest to candy, kiwi, underripe green melon, cream, vanillin, soft caramel notes, light, fresh herbs, candle wax, honeysuckle, white spice with pronounced palate heat, refined chalkiness, gritty volcanic & limestone minerals, sea fossils, saline, yellow lilies, white florals, fruit blossoms, spring flowers & mix greens. The acidity is beautifully round and phat. The finish is long, nicely knitted, polished, perfectly polished, elegant ending in persistent white spice.
Nice pairing for our white cheeses.
