Royal Oporto (Real Companhia Velha)

Quinta das Carvalhas 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Medium garnet hue. Aromas of caramel, maple syrup, pralines, prunes, raisin, and vanilla. Full body, with medium tannins and medium-minus acidity. Bunches of dried fruit on the palate and a smooth texture. A lovely dessert wine--pairs deliciously with dark chocolate and soft cheese. — 13 hours ago

Sandeman

Sandeman Porto 20 Year Old Tawny

Rides the line between tawny and ruby. Rides it well. Young and bright, but refined with age too. Some tootsie roll, but rich fruit flavor keeps it from getting too chocolatey. — 17 days ago

Vintage Port Blend 2017

Deep Ruby color with purple edges, aged for about 20 months on oak. The port wine displays a complex nose with ripe fruits and sweet spice. On the palate ripe sweet juicy blackberry and cherry flavors emerge, velvety and smooth. Tannins are present and tight and chewy, well balanced. Long finish ending with ripe juicy fruit, spice and  slight earthy character, not as big as ‘16 but, Very Nice! Can drink now but will develop over next decade! — 3 days ago

Tout Près Pinot Noir 2019

About as good as Aussie pinot gets. Aromatically explosive - dark spicy fruit, mushroomy funk, and a menthol/tobacco note . The palate is full bodied and silky without being heavy. The quality of the rich dark fruit needs the acid and honed tannins of a young vintage. This would make old bones given the balance, but I prefer the young precocious colt. This is serious and nothing like the Giant Steps pinots of previous notes. 94++ — 2 days ago
