Tawny Port

Otima 10 Year Old Tawny Porto Port Blend

Pretty tawny. Love the red color and obviously Warre’s does too, i mean look at that clear bottle. Bright red with tinges of brown. Has a cough syrup vibe, but also so much more including baked cherries, nutty caramel, and a bit of raspberry. Medium finish. — 6 days ago

Curly Flat

Pinot Noir 2012

Surprised it’s been over four years since I last tasted this vintage. And hasn’t it developed! Much more towards savoury and charcuterie flavours now, although some dark cherry remains. Slightly drying finish, faintly reminiscent of cocoa. It’s certainly much softer and mature than I recall, moving into its autumnal phase. Drink soon, I’d say. — 23 days ago

Sangreal Pinot Noir 2018

Delectable Wine

Limpid ruby-red. Finely detailed red currant, raspberry, Asian spice and floral aromas pick up a hint of blood orange with air. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering alluringly sweet red fruit preserve, candied rose, star anise and vanilla flavors that betray no excess fat. In a distinctly elegant style, with fine-grained tannins adding discreet grip to the impressively long, red-fruit- and spice-driven finish. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2022)

20 Years Old Tawny Port Blend

Probably the best wine I’ve purchased from Costco. It’s not cheap compared to other Costco offerings- but it’s much less cost with similar quality than the $90+ or more bottles of 20 year tawny port I’ve enjoyed. It’s just so smooth and complex that I don’t feel I need to describe the flavors profile. It’s complete. — 2 months ago

A great value, and IMO the 20 is the best out of the 10/20/30/40Y versions of this Tawny.

Giant Steps

Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Delectable Wine

Deep, glistening ruby-red. Ripe, mineral-accented red and blue fruits, incense, musky earth and candied flowers on the seductively perfumed nose. Sappy and alluringly sweet on the palate, offering juicy cherry, black raspberry, savory herb and vanilla flavors along with an exotic Asian spice nuance. Fine-grained and seamless in texture, delivering round, slowly building tannins and an impressively long finish that leaves kirsch and floral notes behind. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2022)

Vintage Port Blend 1945

Wow. One of the best bottles of port I’ve ever had. Light and delicate at this point. Confected red berries, fig, red wine vinegar, and a distinct smokiness. Epic. — 2 months ago
