Deep Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, floral notes and spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with cacao, floral, espresso and cinnamon spice. Full-bodied, fine tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, spice and an earthy character. β 23 days ago

Last bottle of my 2018 SC.
Followed over two days. Juicy, ripe and balanced. Astounding value at $30. Havenβt found the signature TRB blood orange profile in these RM SCs, but thatβs a small nitpick. Loads of red and black berry fruit upfront, boysenberry, red currant and dark florals. Mid palate was much better on day two as it bulked up and showed the nervy side of SC Pinot. It has a high toned/elegant profile while retaining weight. Stylistically it sits in between RRV and cool climate SC. Banging value, as always. Drink now or in the next 3-5yrs. β a month ago
Another great Ridge. There is a bit of v/a - brettanomyces on the nose but the palate is solid. 71% Zinfandel, 19% Carignane, 7% Petite Syrah, 2% Mataro & 1% Alicante Bouschet. This blend changes year to year but, the quantity is always solid. Once again, Iβve been at this a long time, but I have never opened a bad bottle of Ridge.
Ripe, juicy; blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, boysenberries, raspberries over that hover over the top. Touch a black pepper, dry crushed rocks, volcanic limestone minerals, dark, rich soils, pine tar, melted, dark chocolate, caramel notes, vanillin, some black tar, notes of herbaceousiness, moist clay, violet for days, some lavender, amazing acidity with a well balanced, smooth structure/tension and a beautiful finish that lasts a full minute.
Happy Labor Day weekend! β 21 days ago
This wine was exquisite. Divine and restrained. Farm and earth with red berries yet refined. β 6 days ago
2009 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 30 mins. Much more acidity (specifically orange peel/orange zest) than any other new or older WS offering Iβve come across. Was really tight initially and improved somewhat. Maybe an off bottle or βin a mood.β Was lacking the usual/hallmark WS rubber stamp that accompanies their juice. Muted. 8.26.23. β a month ago
This is a blend, but hit all the high notes I love about Zin. Bright big red berry jam and black pepper! β 19 days ago

Some say it takes a few years for these wines to come together; 4 years later, this 19 is showing beautifully.
Well worth the wait. β a day ago
