Blueberry muffin, floral on the nose, with flavor notes of Cranberry, brown sugar, lavender. — 6 days ago
Found a bottle in aldi drank it with Ben and ash, very drinkable — 20 hours ago
TW: Nice anda smooth, my wife like it but lacks edge to attack garlic heavy seafood. I use a more acidic and cheaper Chardonnay like Prototype for that, but this one is much better match for more subtle tastes like salmon. — 12 days ago
Dusty, chalky notes. Very light, bright color. Medium bodied. Green apple, crisp tartness. More floral when it’s chilled. — 10 days ago
This showed nice promise but, was somewhat closed down. It was opened right at tasting. So, it also hadn’t had much time to breathe. I would range this at 92-94 with 7-10 years of bottle age.
The mouthfeel was big, round, lush, touch velvety with rounded, yet drier tannins. Blackberries, black raspberries, black cherries, black plum skin, softly layered baking spices; cinnamon, some nutmeg & clove, vanilla, used expresso grounds, sweet tarriness, dark moist soils, good wood use (not over done), soft leather, fresh & dry tobacco, touch of graphite, light licorice blend, easy; dry crushed rocks, alluvial volcanic & limestone/sandstone. Dry stems with a full array of nice fresh, dark, red, blue & purple florals framed in light lavender & beautiful violets. The round acidity very good & rounded. The structure, length, tension & balanced are good but need several years to integrate to flourish. The finish is; lush, elegant, balanced, well rounded persisting minutes and long setting into dry, dusty tannins.
I am told by the folks who show the “Baron” for Montagu that this is made with Beckstoffer fruit. If they label it as such, the price per fruit ton is more. — a month ago
I really liked this. We opened this with handmade pizzas on a grilled pizza stone and it was spectacular. — 7 days ago
An Australian Cab! Really nice legs, and a gorgeous, opaque deep purple color. Ripe and earthy on the nose. Almost tart, but in a nice way with a well-balanced finish and lingering bright fruit. Certainly not your typical Cabernet, but I'm happy with it! — 25 days ago
Picked up a bottle on sale for $25 for mimosas over thanksgiving break. Perfect for that purpose. — a day ago
Black with burnt umber highlights. Low and creamy head springs with bubbles combining to undercut its great form. Fireworks lacing slow falls to leopard spots. Espresso and baker’s chocolate nose boasts licorice and chicory, campfire notes and vanilla. Palate shows none of the sweet elements of the nose initially. Instead, pipe tobacco and unsweetened bitter chocolate, the chicory and burnt toast prevail; a burnt tips taste lingering. Baked pecan, dark caramel, black pepper, and ethiopean coffee, with black chewing tobacco and vanilla bean complete the circuit. Power and restraint, in this lovely offering. This really did set the standard. #samuelsmiths #samuelsmitholdbrewery #tadcaster #NYorks #imperialstout #stout #englishstout #beer #classicbeer #bier #biere #birra #cerveza #cerveja #britbeer #britannia #ukberr #ukstout #britishbeer #britishstout — a month ago
