For #kosherwineSunday and Cabernet Sauvignon Day, here is a nice one from Israel.
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
On the nose cherries, red currants, oak, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, vegetables, peppercorn, bitter herbs and light barnyard.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, chocolates, wood, spices, light vanilla, green vegetables, tobacco leaf, earth, cocoa, dark roast coffee, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the Judean Hills region in Israel. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Spicy and feels more like a Syrah dominant, at this point.
This new world wine shows a lot of old-world characteristics, which makes it interesting.
Good right out of the bottle, but better after 1 hour in a decanter, and will benefit from a few more years in the bottle.
Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with a Canadian Camembert cheese.
A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Syrah. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Kosher.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

A hand selected seven barrel Pinot blend! The color on this is medium Ruby with cherry and cranberry aromas as well as some clay. More cherry on the fore-pallet plus bright acidity, some damp earth, and an iron feel. The barrel blend certainly gives this pinot a deep complexity which is very unusual for Pinot (the blend that is); yet the blend seems to work in the bottle and more so in the glass. Great wine tasting experience, for sure, this is one I’ll remember for a while. — 24 days ago
One word: sexy. An absolutely explosive nose of dried violet and assorted flower petals, Asian five spice, sweet licorice, succulent strawberries, rhubarb, smoke/flint. Even though Russell is my favorite winemaker I still, up until this point, had not tried any of his Pinots, nor had any pre-conceived notions as to how his Pinots should drink. As such, I kept my expectations comfortably in check. But wow...this is full-throttle, deep, suave, and downright sensual. Freakin’ love it. — 7 days ago
Pop and pour, slow ox for 1hr. This is a flat-out fantastic OR PN. On the nose: soft funk, cardamom, clove, plum, black pepper...just beginning to uncoil. On the palate: fantastic acidity, black pepper, toasted cardamom, cinnamon, clove, then loads of sweet pomegranate and soft plum. Very soft black pepper, and very juicy on the soft, finely grained tannic finish. — 8 days ago
This is a fabulous sweet Gewürztraminer from Israel. Showing a great aromatic nose, and delicious on the palate.
Sweet and nicely balanced with enough acidity for the sugars.
Showing citrus, honeydew, tropical fruits, stewed lemons, apples, honeysuckle, kiwifruit, guava and spices.
This 5 year old is showing great complexity with a buttery mouthfeel. A great dessert wine and so easy to drink. Too bad it's only 375 ml 😊
Would continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
I've had it before, as a young wine, and it is so much better now, with some age.
100% Gewürztraminer grapes, made in the ice wine style. Kosher. Non Mevushal.
12% alcohol by volume.

It is Thursday night the eve before the start of another weekend. I have opened the 2018 Patricia Green Cellar Durant Vineyard Madrone Block Pinot Noir. This is a beautifully balanced pinot noir from the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
The nose brings out notes of cherry, raspberry, floral notes, sassafras, vanilla, cola, clove and baking spices.
Onnthe palate there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, vanilla, herbs, hibiscus and forest floor.
This wine is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir that is beautifully well balanced and is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that lead into a medium to long red fruit finish. Here we are on the eve before the start of another weekend and we need to look within to see how we want to proceed in life? Do we want to try and make something out of our life and do right with our fellow man or proceed with the status quo and not make a mark on this world.i hope we all want to make a difference and try and lift one another up. Let try and support one another and see above the hate and discontent. Please be kind to one another and be healthy and safe so we can all make this a better place. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 10 days ago
I’m tasting this alongside old vines Gevrey Chambertin and a Côtes de Nuits Villages from a great winemaker and this rocks. Juicier and sooo balanced! Violets and cherries abound. Could be our #SB expensive house wine for when people in Spain ask what SB wines are like? Good ass #pinot #pinotnoir #sbcounty #santabarbarapinot #santabarbaracounty — 8 hours ago
