Puligny Montrachet Chassagne Montrachet, Côte De Beaune

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot 2017

Lyle Fass

Wow. Ripe nose. Sweet wood. Gingerbread. Melon. Green apple. Almost also peach as well as this has terrific ripeness. Elegant, juicy and full of acid and a very glossy texture. Sweet wood that is so well integrated and full of finesse. Long, evocative finish. Sappy, dense, saline and mineral. Round and high mineral. Huge structure. Can age much longer. Just starting to be in a great spot. Wow. — 17 days ago

Domaine Ramonet

Bienvenue Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 1989

Medium gold color. Thick like oil in the glass. Killer exotic aged burg nose. Notes of honeysuckle, citrus, white flowers, mint, lime blossoms and kiwi fruit. Tons of acidity matched up against rich fruit. This took us on a roller coaster all night, with crazy crescendos of fruit and smells. Best of the three BBMs tonight. — 16 days ago

La Romanée Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Certainly one of the absolute best 1er crus in Chassagne, 2018 La Romanée from Dancer is superb tonight, of Grand Cru quality and particularly exceptional for the vintage. It’s bouquet is layered with ripe stone fruit, white flowers, toasted hazelnut and attractive reduction and its deeply concentrated palate has incredible vibrancy and lift, totally in focus and elegantly textured, giving way to a notably long mineral inflicted finish. Fantastic bottle. — 10 days ago

Les Ruchottes Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2016

Continuing to dip into 2016 white burg at the top level and continuing to be pleased. Surely one of the most coveted and iconic Ramonet plots, albeit young, 2016 Ruchottes is very impressive tonight, proving the frost laden growing season is becoming a year of terroir over vintage. At first perhaps eerily opulent, it continues to focus with air and flaunts an explosive bouquet of stone fruit, citrus oils, wet stones, white flowers and toasty oak with Ramonet spearmint that comes in after some aeration. The palate is expansive, dense and concentrated with an elegant texture and just enough citrusy acids to support its imposing richness. If I were to nitpick I’d like more length but this is a great bottle. — 17 days ago

Tete du Clos Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

This needed quite a bit of air to get going, I’d recommend a decant. Very elegant, precise wine. High acid, layers of citrus and stone fruit 😍🍋⚡️ — 3 days ago

Les Vieilles Vignes Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2018

Once the bottle got some oxygen and blew off some of the acid - this wine was really beautiful. Nice oak balanced with fruit and some sunshine.

Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 1993

Light to medium gold color. Nice weight. Fruit forward, impactful nose. Notes of meyer lemon, tan spice, honeydew melon, citrus, kiwi and apricot. Silky and smooth in the mouth. Awesome fruit and fine-grained acidity. Lemon creme notes come on throughout the evening. Great juice. — 16 days ago

Domaine Leflaive

Clavoillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

Aromas of citrus blossom, acacia and honey were immediately revealed

The palate offered lemon merengue, orange marmalade and ricola with some vanillin and spice present on the lengthy finish

Good focus up front with a vibrant energetic midpalate ~ and over time sea shells, salinity and minerality unfolded

In Short this is a very pretty wine in a lovely spot and perfect for warm weather consumption
