I love 2017 in Valtelinna. It’s like how Barolo was 30-50 years ago. A throwback vintage. Gorgeous and nimble nose of red fruits, tobacco leaf, gorgeous rose florals and stunning elegance. What an elegant nose. So pure. so lithe. so ethereal and pretty. Mid to early season cherries are the main fruit aromas here. So stunning. Palate is so juicy, lithe and elegant. My goodness this is such a pretty wine. Cleansing minerality and such freshness. Lithe and nimble tannins and such stunning purity. They masterfully handled this vintage. I’ll be back as it airs as this wine has 9 lives it changes so much. Long finish, nimble tannins and stunning fruit clarity. As this airs it gets even more fresh. The freshness here is just remarkable. — 10 days ago
Old world colour and age meet youthful fruity flavors and a nose of amarone-inspired sun-dried berries and herbal undertones. Dried herbs on a velvety palate of fruit-driven delights. A lush mouthful of cherry and dried pomegranate marry crushed oregano. Sips lengthy and lovely with balanced bright acidity. Cheers for a memorable toast on a breezy summer’s eve. — 11 days ago
Deep reddish tawny color, mostly translucent. Floral nose. Notes of red fruit, rose petals, dark soil, smoked meat and blood sausage, and a little anise. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Still has some tannin. Gets bigger with air over the evening. This came across as a somewhat different bottle of juice than the 70 Monprivato next to it - with the 70 being more aged-Barolo like, and the 78 being more of a hearty Cote-Rotie or something. Nevertheless everyone loved this and having the two side-by-side. — 7 days ago
Wrong wine in Delectable: this is not the "Vigneto Rocche" but the "Rocche dell'Annunziata", the famous La Morra vineyard that Accomasso and several other great producers make a little wine from.
This is classic and textbook Nebbiolo that shows the rounder plusher side to the La Morra tannin structure, though they are very present but starting to resolve. Beautiful notes of raspberry, cherry, tar and roses jingles with savory spices. Med/med+ ruby, then med+ all the way across the nose and palate to the finish. — 9 days ago
The 2021 Nebbiolo Rusin opens slowly in the glass, displaying dried apricots, peach skins and sweet smoke. Soothing textures with brilliant acidity enriches its white cherry-berry fruits. Minerality and sour citrus linger as the 2021 tapers off with fine tension. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2022) — 3 days ago
Taken to Selby's in Redwood City. Tawny color, with a deep reddish center and clear rims. Almost opaque. Awesome aged Barolo nose. Notes of a cup of dark red fruit, tea, rose petals, anise, mocha and some balsamic thing. Great balance of the remaining fruit with softened tannins. In a great spot for drinking. — 6 days ago

Another 2017 Arpepe winner. Stunning nose. Classic Nebbiolo. Stunning. Aromas of rose petals, tar, some earth, but dried earth, leather and just so deep and so good. Classic. Like MGM classic. Wow. Palate is a dream. Succulent and supple with just insane juiciness and balance. Pure. All red fruit and just perfect balance and sweetness. Sappy and long. And my goodness is this elegant. Maybe the most elegant non riserva I’ve had from ar pe pe. Genius wine. Utter beauty. — 3 days ago
