Superbe rapport prix/plaisir. Le tout en biodynamie. Que demander de plus !!
This light wine is just incredible for its price range .... at less than € 15 it is a superb expression of pinot noir in Alsace style. A tangy red fruit supported by some nice notes of terroir, earthiness, and sweet spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and pepper. Nice final and superb price / pleasure ratio. All in biodynamics. So many prior notes, I’m not going to go into detail here, but in my mind, there’s a paradox here... Katz (the winemaker) has stripped away the usual embellishments, and produced a minimal, laser-focused SB. The major notes of exotic fruits and acidity ring as clear as a bell. Brilliant. — 6 years ago
Still in very good shape. Warm and dry vintage leather and earthy notes and Xmas cake development. — 8 years ago
Taste this blind and you will guess Burgundy. The nose, the palate, the color; everything screams burg. Speaking of the nose; foot fetish anyone? ( @Shawn R ) Locker room, wild tart cherry, damp forest floor, roasted lamb juices, and well... women’s shoes 👠 . Savory and meaty. After a couple hours open, this builds some sweetness on the back end; a little Luden’s cherry drop and dried thyme sprigs. Really well made and a true testament to the terroir of this single vineyard. Burgundy lovers need to get their hands on this. — 8 years ago

Not harsh, minimal alcoholic taste. Went great with salmon dish. — 4 months ago

Perfect cork.
Fantastic ripe plum notes to the nose and palate. I don't know the exact blending percentages of the grapes, but assume CS is dominant since it's listed first on the back label. But, the Merlot is most prominent at this age and it's singing a beautiful song tonight after 3H in the decanter. Last bottle from release purchase in April 2006, winery direct. — 2 years ago

Thanks to @David L , I’m a believer. Loads of ripe melon, lemon zest, white grapefruit, lemongrass, and tropical fruits of all kinds; green guava, pineapple, kiwi. This is better with lots of air and closer to room temp. Jesse Katz is doing some really fun wines right now, and this stands out. I think this will age really nicely. Extremely interested to learn more about the oak treatment. When I heard Haut Brion Blanc barrels, my ears perked up. Check out @Greg Ballington ‘s post. — 7 years ago

Light sweet fruity aroma. Sweet and fruity. Not overly sweet. Extremely well balanced. Lingering flavor and great body for a white. Would pay $25/bottle. — 8 years ago

Aged beautifully after opening! Just noticed it was a 2015 vintage! Just enough fruit, happy to finish the bottle. — 10 months ago
Keep it in the cellar a little longer than me and then you’ll have something special — 5 years ago
Gift from Simon. His friend made this wine. Insanely good. — 7 years ago
Black cherry, vanilla, licorice, oak, blackberry, raspberry and eucalyptus. Great structure and moderate tannins. — 7 years ago
Last of the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings we tasted at Aperture Cellars with Lauren. Dark purplish ruby red. Ripe red berries on the nose with some spices, perfume and a touch earthy. Medium tannins (7/10) and full bodied. A bit of heat on the palate with some cassis, black cherries and spices. Not as vast as the Del Rio with a touch of dark cocoa. Needs some time to pull itself together. Dry and gravelly long finish. Drink from 2019 till 2030. (92+)
This is made up of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc from the Oliver Ranch Vineyard and cultivated by Phil Freese. Who actually does another one of our favorites - Vilafonté in South Africa.
First stop on our very first trip to Sonoma, and we were not dissappointed. The wines made by Jesse Katz have a ton of finesse, power and character. Definitely a winery for any wine lover or collector to have on their radar. Stay tuned for some exciting new wines coming out in the 2017 vintage, possibly an old vine Zinfandel. Also a must visit for art and photography lovers. — 8 years ago
Loads of complexity! Nice boisenberry and cherry along with sambuca (that's right) and brownie, with a suggestion of, perhaps green bean. Tip of the cap to one of Livermore's best. Could go another 2 years... — 9 years ago
A lovely Dry Creek Valley Zin. — 9 years ago

Winemaker Jesse Katz knocks Malbec out of the park! Deep purple, inky color. Aromas of plum, blueberry, lavender and cocoa. Incredible flavors of black and blue fruit, chocolate, tobacco and spice finish.
