Wow, so earthy and mushroomy. Margaux florals are singing. Red currants. leather, smoke, spice, so many aromas. A 9.7 nose. Lights out. Peppermint. Candy cane. So complex and diverse. Dried leaves. Wet leaves. Tree bark. Juicy and clean with lovely sweet red currant fruit, terrific freshness and some gritty tannins. Great acids and finesse. Cocoa powder and a bittersweet mocha on the finish linger. Spectacular. Such fine tannins and glorious cherry fruit now. BAMA kills in every vintage. After 20 minutes the nose closed as did the palate. I will wait. — 2 months ago

Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim
Earthy nose with light oak, black fruits and tobacco.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, licorice, dark chocolates, black tea and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 35 year old is still drinking beautifully. This Second Growth Bordeaux is nicely balanced and complex.
Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 10+ years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 4 hours. I did not decant it, but let it open up in the bottle.
Wine Spectator 96 points.
A good food wine that I paired with beef brisket. Gorgeous.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.

Last bottle in the shop 😞, but very enjoyable — 3 months ago
Was good with brisket. Some tobacco and earth. — 25 days ago
My favorite Cru Beaujolais, a little more weight and darker fruit then the typical Gamay. This drinks like a village level Burg. Layered, complex, med+ tannins and ages well. — 3 months ago

Brought to a dinner with some guests visiting from Piemonte. The 2008 “Taillepieds” pours a deep ruby with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no obvious staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and slightly underripe strawberry, cherry, mushrooms, red flowers, varnish (yeah, there’s some VA) stony earth and delicate baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin, medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The body is fit and the finish is long and full of energy. This is a really attractive beauty; the sort that you might feel compelled to apologize to for gawking. And, while I found this to be really tasty at nearly 16 years of age, it clearly has a long way to go. Drink now through 2033+. — 16 days ago
