Rosso di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2018

Mid Ruby in colour. Aromatic red fruits. Light weight but medium plus intensity. Red cherry. Palate shows balsamic ultra savoury notes with other Mediterranean herbs. Interesting the title of this wine and I recall it being a trick question in the WSET Exams where this is called a Rosso di Montepulciano but the wine is 100% Sangiovese. The vineyard is biodynamic the fermentation is done in cement and the oak regime is all large and has no flavour impact on the wines. — 4 days ago

Really very nice. Nice find on the list at union sq cafe. Great fruit in a nice alto piemonte restrained way balanced with wonderful acidity and freshness. Slightly fleshier than some alto Piemonte’s I’ve had, though not in a bad way at all. Delicious. — 20 days ago
