Saturday lunch with friends. Aromas of white flowers and bath talcum powder. Amazingly youthful for a 9 year old Riesling - a long future ahead of at least another 10 to 15 years. Vibrant acidity will nurture this going forward. Considered by many to be Australia’s premium Riesling. A class act which will no doubt put on weight in the coming 10 years. — a month ago
Many of the Wine scribes in Australia are spruiking the 2017 vintage in Australia as superlative for Riesling. This Vickery did not disappoint. Aromas of Musk and Lime. The palate is richer than expected with the pronounced Acid one would expect. A long future ahead. On the basis of this I have ordered a mixed dozen of 3 different Rieslings from 2017 made by Jeffrey Grosset from the Clare Valley. — 4 years ago

Light and lilting in the glass. Plenty of wooden pencils and wet soils in the nose. Berry too. Flavors are dense and plump. Some cheerful cherry. Some brooding bramble berry jams. Hit of licorice. Subtle and razor sharp on the tongue. Dry and snappy to finish. This is nice, fairly-easy red Rhône sipping wine. — 7 months ago
Expressive and delicious off dry Riesling from Grosset’s Rockwood vineyard. Lots of intense lime and lemon notes with lemongrass and savory spice nuances.
More info: The “Alea” section of the vineyard features hard red rock similar to slate with poor orange/red loam topsoil. Average yield is 2.5 bottles per vine. — 7 months ago
