Extra Brut Champagne Rosé De Pinot Meunier

Less tart and less cranberry than the previous bottle we had. More balanced fruit - strawberry, warm, white flowers, light citrus. Still a stunner. — 8 days ago

The Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir 2004

2004; Ripe cherry, sweet cherries, mahogany shavings, damp soil. 2H decant, more time needed. Just under a case left here, actual notes on future bottles.

Les Vignes d'Autrefois Extra Brut Champagne Pinot Meunier 2016

Fragrant, sharp palate, massively mineral with searing lemon/lime notes, hint of tropical fruit. Vinous. Geeky and perhaps needs more time. I’d like a bit more elegance… wife loves it. — 11 days ago

Les Beaudiers Rosé de Saignée Vieilles Vignes Extra Brut Champagne Pinot Meunier 2015

I had the 2014 vintage about a year and a half ago and loved it. Whether vintage or timing, I think the 2015 is a step behind due to the richness/vinous nature teetering a bit too far…still a fun and delicious champagne.

From across the room, you’d likely call this red burgundy based on color and aromatics. Aromas of licorice, cinnamon, cardamom and rhubarb. On the palate, it’s super vinous and dense, yet has so much classical meunier notes of gummy red fruits, floral notes of violets, but whereas the 2014 was a touch more elegant, this teetered toward sappy black cherry at the finish which hung around too long. Similar to the 2014, there is tannin and weight, which has this drinking like a red burg when the right food pairing is taking place.

Les 7 Soléra Champagne Blend

Beautiful wine. Needed some air to open. Nose with apples, stone fruits, like being in the orchard, bit of bread, strawberry cream. Palate was just lovely with racy acidity, some fruit, sour baguette, and finish with citrus and some wood. Really enjoyed this one. — 10 days ago

Les Bessards Hermitage Syrah 1999

Deep dark tawny color. Notes of black fruit, iron, slate stone, earthy soil and a little menthol. Silky in the mouth. Maybe a tad below in performance from the last bottle of this. Very nice but not spectacular. — a month ago
