The Grand Cru of Cava? Corpinnat (Heart of Penedes) is a special designation by a group of estates (currently 11) who broke tie with the Cava D.O. This one was disgorged in 12/2023.
Aromatic nose of green apple, peach, chalk, light brioche, and hint of white floral. Vibrant, round, and precise. Very impressive, particularly when considering this is a brut nature.

"A bright, dry berry flavor and warm, velvety mouthfeel while forgoing any chemical herbicides. The result is a wine with a complex, battle hardened nose of dark cherry and cacao, bright and spicy on the palate, and warm in the mouth."

Beautiful wine and one of my favorites of the year. — 4 years ago
What an amazing blend! Imagine your typical Gewürztraminer made subtle by its mixture with traditional Catalan varietals. I’ve found that certain meals—carbonara, some east Asian dishes, and blended soups—need a white wine in a tall, skinny bottle that doesn’t suck. This is it. — 2 months ago

Dark fruits, Soft tannins. Great art — 4 years ago
Wow, this bottle showing amazingly open for business immediately (though I lost the battle to extract the cork fully!!). I’ve always thought that of the 3 Raveneau Grand Crus, Blanchot has consistently shown the most ripe tropical fruit undertones (of course measured by Chablis standards), whereas Clos is more intensely mineral and Valmur somewhere in between, and this bottle fits that pattern. From a little riper Chablis vintage (13.5% vs. more usual 12.5-13% ABV), this bottle is richly fruited, with plenty of acidity and some subtle minerality, with a very, very long, lingering finish, absolutely a great Raveneau Blanchot!! — 5 months ago
This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Aromas of sweet black fruits with floral and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry & blueberry with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine rustic tannins, long savory ending with fruit, spice and cedar character. — 3 years ago
Baby Monte Bello, with big California Cab oomph and gripping tannins. This dark red also featured the typical fruit, earth and mineral notes that you would expect, but I just can’t get past those big, bruising tannins. Improved considerably after an hour of decanting. This 2017 vintage probably needs another half decade at least to soften and mature. Paired well with prime ribeye steak, cutting through the richness like a battle ax. — 4 years ago
