Doring Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Substantial Pinot. Black cherry rollup, blackberry. Still needs a few years. Impressive, still. — 2 months ago

La Bohème Yamhill - Carlton Brut Rosé 2016

Pure sparkling perfection. This is 100% Pinot Noir single source fruit from Elk Cove’s La Boheme vineyard located in the coastal range of Oregon. It’s got delicious depth of flavor and wonderful effervescence to make it stand up to all the great sparkling wines out there. One of our favorites in our house. It’s fun and unexpected compared to a more traditional sparkling. It’s dry and delicious. — a month ago

Cappellano

Gabutti Barbera d'Alba 2015

Selected from the HSWM shelf to accompany the bevy of wines from Piemonte already at the table. I’ve been a huge fan of Cappellano’s Barbera d'Alba in the past and this certainly impressed, as I expected it would. It worked really well with the hangar steak but it was holding something back. We took the remaining half of the bottle home and the real fireworks show came on Day 2 paired with some homemade Bolognese that I made with some ground elk. Undergrowth, dark fruit, figs, dark tilled earth, cumin, spiced meat and what fantastic acid!! Tannins seem to be medium. Sediment appears to be medium plus…lol…there’s a lot. Yes, the price is steep for a "modest" Barbera but when you consider the overall quality and satisfaction, this absolutely delivers and absolutely worth it. — 3 months ago

@Daniel Bloom yeah...for some reason, the app likes to mess with vintages from time to time 🤷🏽‍♂️
