Alsace Gewürztraminer 2015

Excellent balance without being overpowering. Notes of apricot while still having a citrus mouthfeel. — 24 days ago

Granbarrel

Martin Obenaus G Grüner Veltliner 2017

Vintage 2017 | a big wine with lots of character, earl grey and ripe pear in smell, hay also. Gold colour. Powerful and impressive. A wine for gastronomy with a slight oxydation tone that makes it very interesting. — 18 days ago

love it! perfect natural wine for fall. it tastes almost effervescent, but unlike summer glou glou types has a solid structure and backbone. I’m getting red fruit and violets and maybe earl gray tea — 15 days ago

Quintessa

Rutherford Red Blend 2015

Deep ruby - almost purple - hue with tearing and staining. Nose has a lot of red and black fruit; cherry pie filling, raspberry jam, creme de cassis, ripe blackberry, nutmeg and light baking spices, white pepper, dusty cedar box, vanilla, pencil shavings, dried violets, earl grey tea, and mushrooms. Strong tannins on the palate, long, elegant finish. Deep complexity, layered character. Full-bodied. I can only imagine this wine ten years on. Classic pairing with filet mignon and white truffle sautéed mushrooms, roasted potatoes and asparagus. Vintage 2015. 14.5% ABV. Happy Anniversary @Deked1 ❤️❤️ — 2 months ago

This is a beautiful Burgundy from one of my favorite regions — Côte de Beaune — in the Côte d’Or, which brings back magical memories traveling and exploring with loved ones. These sips take me back. 🙏🙏

Domaine Louis Boillot et Fils

Bourgogne Pinot Noir

“In the glass, the wine has a cool, dark ruby color that warms to red tinged fuchsia at the edge. Aromas of smoky griotte cherries, fresh ripe cranberries, and wild blueberries move in and out of the foreground, sometimes alternating with wild mushrooms, charcouterie, and freshly cut hay as the nose evolves in the glass. On the palate, the wine tastes “Pinoté” (more like Pinot Noir than Gamay), and grows more voluminous with time in the glass: sleek, focused, transparent, and vibrant, with a sweet core of flavors that echo the nose, including sun warmed black raspberries, dried tarragon, Earl Grey tea, and cardamom. If you didn’t know that this was a Moulin à Vent, you’d be excused if you mistook it for one of Louis Boillot’s elegant, silky Volnays. Drink now – 2029.” — Moore Brothers — a month ago

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2007

After drinking a few of these in a short period of time I’m getting more of the sense of the “Montebello” house style. This one is more restrained and slightly more austere than the 2010. On the nose, tobacco, cassis and earl grey tea. In the mouth, grippy tannins, dark fruit, black tea, acid. Long finish. Like all MB, needs time, but totally accessible now. Yum. — 9 days ago

Trader Joe's

Platinum Reserve Carneros Pinot Noir 2018

Weighty mouthfeel yet velvety and coats the palate. Starts off with strawberry flavors and quickly evolves showing generous notes of earl grey tea, orange peel, and rose petals. A long, acidic finish. Not a doubt in my mind this would finish strong in a blind tasting. Again a textbook example of its what’s in the bottle that matters not the label. Stock up while you can. There wasn’t much. — a month ago

Château Mouton Rothschild

Réserve Nicolas Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1982

Last night I was fortunate enough to enjoy a bottle of 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothchild that was stored with perfect provenance. Right out of the gate the core of dark fruits and exotic spices really impressed, as leather, pipe tobacco, red rose petal and forest floor tones also rounded out this evocative bouquet. The palate was utterly seamless, effortlessly gliding throughout. Silky, with a soft, pillowy texture, the wine unveiled blackberry compote, damp soil, Earl Grey tea and tobacco leaf flavors alongside a great level of tension. The length and viscosity of the wine was truly amazing. Gorgeous to enjoy at this stage, nearly in its 40th year, the 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothchild still has decades of life ahead of it.
