A pleasant surprise, albeit showing a hint of maturity on the palate.
Nose displays strawberries with a wisp of mushrooms. Palate is bold and vigorous. This all about energy power. Overall, excellent. I just caught this in its old man phase. Certainly, a producer to watch.
Mo wasn’t feeling it, but I have assumed editorial liberties (and it came from our cellar). — 5 days ago
Last bottle, still wonderful, no new notes:
A copper, pink color in the glass, visually stunning.
Nose has soiled cherry, wet chestnuts, new leather and a touch of cold tangerine peel.
Palate has wet leather, yellow cherry, sour cherry, light chestnut barrel notes and quick squeeze of tangelo.
Best enjoyed as it warms out of the ice bath (+55°F) — 5 days ago
From terrific wine maker Maggie Harrison, a Rosé like no other. It drinks almost like a natural red Burgundy. It reminded me of Prieure Roch Le Cloud or Sylvain Pataille Marsannay. Good depth to it and nicely textured showing a cool minerality, balanced acidity, cherry bubblegum, mandarin orange and a touch of damp earth and Asian spice. I had it left out and off of ice and treated it like a red. Seemed to be the right move as it becomes more expressive the less cold it is. Super unique wine and happy to have finally tried it! Great stuff. — 4 days ago
This bottle was left at my birthday picnic, so we took it home not thinking much of it.
Roses, gummy bears, and strawberries.
Wow, unexpectedly great. Always a wonderful feeling when you’re not expecting anything.
Blood oranges flirt with rose petals, and threesome with grapefruit gummy bears to make a tart, refreshing, savory, and slightly pleasingly astringent autumn wine. — 10 days ago
Awesome! Light and fresh, very low tannins, strawberry and lightly floral — 10 days ago
Brilliant California Rose’ made with native Portuguese varietals. Blend of Touriga National (80%) and Tinta Cao (20%). Aromas and flavors of Watermelon (like Jolly Ranchers without the sweetness), lemon rind and rose petals. Touches of dark raspberries and a Real purity of fruit. Hint of vanilla and saline with a bit of a creamy finish. Wonderful consistency all through the pallet. Beautiful balance. Clean with just the right level of bright acidity. Winner! — 5 days ago
Deliciousness defined, if you decide to open this pet nat you will need to drink shortly after as the wine won't hold up with vacuum sealing. Regardless a great take w/ wild raspberry plus gooseberry on the whole & a salty quality that comes afterwards. — 2 months ago
