Les Crais Auxey-Duresses Pinot Noir 2013

Reasonably priced and in a drinking sweet spot. Layered with tart fruit and forest floor. A hint of tannins and good acidity. Glad I bought a half case. — 3 years ago

At Rijs Amsterdam recommended for fourth course of white asparagus. Beautiful! A more complex Rose that gets under your skin without you noticing until you think hey what’s that? Do soft in texture but shows complexity and it lingers. Paired perfectly. Yum! A surprise and a great discovery. — 3 years ago

"Les Charmes" Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2019

2022/8. Along with the Fichet Bourgogne Blanc VV, this was part of some recent fun exploring lower-designation wines appending Meursault Charmes. Really nice - pretty much all the elements you could expect in a villages and then some. — 4 years ago

This is the closest I’ve ever come to Coche-Dury in a glass without actually drinking Coche-Dury. Same electric mineral snap. Same charged, high-tension citrus and stone. Same feeling of a white wine lit from within, like the whole thing is running on buried voltage. I am now on a mission to find this wine, because once you taste a Bourgogne Blanc that opens a little side door to Meursault heaven, you do not just shrug and move on. — 3 months ago

Avec Les Bon Veux Saison Malt

Amazing that this is 9.5% because it's so easy to drink a 750mL bottle. It really is wine quality. I have a hard time identifying the nose on beers but it reminds me of being inside the cow feed silo as a kid. It smells like late summer harvest left to ferment.
It's a very clean taste of...... Wheat grass?

Rosa de Maimará Syrah Blend 2022

When in Argentina drink…..rose? Syrah based rose from the extreme North of Argentina, in Juyjuy, just south of Bolivia & Paraguay. At 15.1% abv a “ light” red. Fresh cut wild strawberries soaked in rum, & sure, runs a bit hot but who’s counting when drinking rose in BA. Apparently some young, brave guns making wine this far north & it’s delicious. Enough balance to keep things lip smacking. — 3 years ago

Les Tillets Meursault Chardonnay 2018

2022/7/9-10 with chicken with white wine and tarragon, Kenji Lopez-Alt’s roasted potatoes, etc. This had a lovely, pure nose - high toned with citrus, flowers, minerals and a touch of sweet spice - with an invitingly juicy palate on day 1. On day 2 it was slightly looser and in a more overtly sweet-sour vein, but still tasty. — 4 years ago

Saison Dupont

There's a great video on YT on what a Saison is. In short, it's a farmhouse ale (pale or sometimes red) that was historically served to farm workers as a clean source of hydration. Without any distinctive characters and lower in alcohol then, the "Saison" only really gained it's signature when the house in question came into the equation. Also, based on my research, the checkered "Vielle Provision" yellow labels are the export labels.

As it was here, the Dupont Brewery's Saison is generally cloudy, very carbonated via bottle conditioning, zesty and spicy, bitter with a hint of sour, and a dry hoppy finish. For me, this is truly "The beer for all seasons" - the flavours are just so versatile. Perfect for a warm summer afternoon in the park, yet complex enough to pair with a 3-star dish.
