Recommended by Union Square Wines, which is a nice looking shop, but definitely a bit overpriced and the traditional type of wine shop where their natural wine section is 4 bottles big and they love their tradition and pretension. Not opposed to it, just think it’s a blue ocean, why not be open to all possibilities of what something can be?
Long as it tastes good...
In any case, this was recommended to me as the traditional example of Chenin Blanc so decided to up the ante a bit and go for it.
Straw color. Champagne mangoes, slight thyme, orange blossom, and subtle jasmine.
Well-balanced. Simple in its structure, but being a writer I know when something seems simple, it takes a great amount of precision to achieve that nonchalant exceptionalism. Graceful, may be a better word.
Brioche, honeyed pecans, and a bit of tropical fruit and stone fruit. Light to medium acidity. It’s pleasant. Like laying in a hammock on a Monday night. — 7 days ago
The picture doesn’t do it justice with the bright clear cherry life-saver red color. Tastes how it looks with tart cherries and wile raspberries - LOVED IT! — 2 hours ago
Mycket inbjudande vin. Fortfarande mycket röd frukt som vävs ihop med choklad, kaffe och lite läder. Bra struktur och syra. Lång fin eftersmak. Lite mycket frukt för att vara ett matvin, men gott att bara dricka. — 10 days ago
Happy day with French oysters, caviar and champagne in hot sweaty sticky sunny Singapore. Bye bye COVID-19! — 10 days ago
Light gold. Looks young. Took 5 hours to open up and show its stuff. In hour 6 this was cruising. Saline and sea shells, wispy lemon fruit, some honey, some white stone. The guesses from the fellas were 2002 Rav Clos and 1996 Rav Valmur. Shows how these properly stored aged Raveneaus can age effortlessly. — 2 days ago
Finally an affordable Swiss wine that does not get lost in improbable blends or oak that takes up all the aromatic space! ... and the price is right. Well-worked “Petite Syrah” is a grape variety reminiscent of Syrah by its color and aromatic background. Dark color (purple-violet), brilliant, limpid. The mouth is fresh is less dense than a wine from the Rhône (for example) it is a fairly mineral expression, which tends towards Pinot Noirs or Gamay .. the mountain climate certainly has something to do with it. Nice bottle, I recommend.
— 21 days ago
