Popped and poured. Enjoyed over three days and it was more or less consistent throughout. No formal notes. The 2017’s are beautifully balanced with deep, dark fruit; a combination of ripe and dried (but mostly on the riper end of the spectrum) mixed with some lovely baking spices too. Secondary characteristics have not yet entered the frame. Was an awesome pairing with grilled burgers. Drink now or over the next 10-15 years easy. — a day ago
Deep pink color; pomegranate, raspberries and grape stems on the nose; high acidity; smooth tannins; tastes like sour cherries and cranberries with a long finish. Went really well with a creamy pasta sauce. — 20 days ago
2011. I really like how this aged. It’s not a jammy, acidic, alcoholic Zinfandel. Lighter body, spice aromas, red plum fruits, mellowed tannins and acidity. — 19 days ago
This wine is drinking great. Silver Oak can be pretty tannic, especially the Alexander Valley. 10 years in, that has mellowed and you’re getting some nice fruit and secondary flavors. Chloe V-Day gift. — 7 days ago
The SO Alexanders all need a mandatory, 10 year cooling-off period. After a decade, the ridiculous oak has faded and you're left with an integrated Cabernet that I'd blind taste against anything...ANYTHING from California or Bordeaux. Might not come in first but it will be accounted for. Before that mandatory 10-spot, it's coming in last every single time. Just sayin.'
VERY fruit-forward, like blueberries 🫐/strawberries IN YOUR FACE lol. Marshmellow, nutmeg, honestly just sweeter than I expect for Pinot Noir 🤔 — 7 days ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 12.2.22. Scored the same. Drinking decently now but just needs a solid decade to get affairs, papers and priorities in order. Unfair to be tasting it this young. 6.2.23. — 2 days ago
Very drinkable zinfandel blend. Paired well with our Cornish game hen and potatoes. Reasonable price point. Ridge consistently produces a nice bottle of wine. — a month ago
