Special Club goodness. If you know, you know. The bottles, the high quality, and just the immense fun of the Club Trésors de Champagne.

A distinctly golden hue. Bubbles are tiny but sparse. Nice creaminess and zestiness immediately. The aromas take time to fully express themselves. After around thirty minutes, a touch of key lime and marzipan begins to emerge. Unmistakably Pinot Noir, fresh cherries and red apples introduce themselves. The nose remains subtle, yet quite pretty. The floral aromatics are soft and lovely.

Pure Pinot Noir from Ville-sur-Arce in the Côté des Bar, this is from a tiny plot of land that is farmed sustainably. This is still just a baby of a wine and has such a long journey ahead of it. At the moment it’s drinking quite well and the lively acidity holds everything together. No rough edges at all however so this is an exceedingly smooth pour. Citrus fruits abound on the tongue with a bit of flair and sexiness. Biting minerality on the medium long finish. The Special Club does it again with yet another teeeific champagne. — 4 years ago

Facing a natural terrace above the river Miño, located in the town of As Neves, within the wine region of Condado do Tea, bordering Portugal. Pale yellow with pronounced fruit and floral aromas. On the palate white flesh fruit flavors, citrus and herb notes with lively acidity and nice balance of minerality. Crisp on the finish ending with lemon zest notes. Nice! — 6 years ago

A nicely aged Spanish Red from Ribera Del Duero.

Showing black and red fruits with earth notes, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Full bodied with medium acidity.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 23 Year old is drinking very nicely now with a nice mouthfeel and good structure.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the tannins.

Nicely balanced with nice complexity. A great sipping wine.

I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.

13% alcohol by volume.

A simple package for this nice little Tempranillo from Spain. Good maroon, red with a bit of purple in the center. Smells like black pepper, perfume and blackberry/cherry pie. Flavors are musky, smokey and berry-licious. Hint of floral stuff (rosewater and violet candies) in the mix too. This was a great deal for $5 at Grocery Outlet. Would be nice with a roasted garlic-y, rosemary chicken and potatoes. — 2 years ago
