Grapey and high toned nose. Lovey granite, strawberries and cranberries. Clean. Earthy, sinewy and bright. Palate is concentrated and super bright with sappy early season cherries. Good freshness and energy. Mouthfilling and tangy. Just great. Terrific 18’s here. So much fruit and freshness. So well made and such a nice delicate way about it. — 2 months ago

Vignes d'Ecussol Gamay Noir 2018

Pigg syra, någon pepprighet, mörk fruktighet med lite vingummikaraktär. Kanske lite mineralitet också. Diskreta, sandiga tanniner i bakgrunden. — 5 months ago

Famille Geoffray Côte de Brouilly Gamay

Cherry, herbal, light spice, hint of bubblegum. Very tart, light smoke and herbal finish, light banana and florals. Great flavor, love the tartness, good complexity and wild floral bitterness, wonderful gamay! — 5 months ago

Les Sept Vignes Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2018

Crimson in colour. Sappy cherry aromas - earthy notes. Sour cherry flavours, juicy red fruits, some spice. Light to medium bodied palate and tannins. Apparently a little bit of Chardonnay goes into the blend with the Gamay. Obviously more a summer than a winter drink but curiosity got the better of me. I don’t drink much Beaujolais but this was highly recommended by Roscoe at Prince Wine Store in South Melbourne. Congratulations @PrinceWineStore for being named in the Top 10 Wine Stores in the World! Saw the list in the regular email I get from Acker in New York. Acker were #1 ; Berry Bros and Rudd in London were #2 . — 2 months ago

Les Griottes de Brulhié Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2015

Big time 15 sunshine on the nose. Ripe bright red and black berries and cherries. They smell a bit broad to be honest. Not as precise as I like usually from this bottling. Grapey. Palate has big energy but also a bit broad and tutti frutti. Good freshness and maybe will get better with air. Just a 9.0 for now. Tannins a bit sloppy too. — 3 months ago

Beaujolais Villages Rosé Gamay 2018

This wine is delicately tinted light salmon. Its nose is quite fruity - cherries, strawberries, orange - but also graced with a minerality that serves as a bedrock base for all that beauty. The palate brings ripe red fruit, a hefty mouthfeel and a zippy acidity into play. It’s great for salads, and even better just for sipping.

Cuvée Godefroy Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2018

Lyle Fass
9.5

Love this old old vine cuvee. Complex nose of mid season cherry fruit, florals, huge rocky minerals and rock dust, some game, and lovely dust. So good. Smells ethereally complex. Like a Gamay forest. Palate is deep, deep, deep and so pure with incredible freshness and mineral energy that cleanses the palate. So juicy. Terrific, grainy and caressing tannins. This is a terrific Godefroy that has a very long life ahead of it. Really great depth and serious midpalate density. But the freshness and waves of energy on the finish are what make this wine extra special. — 2 months ago

Cuvée La Chapelle Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2014

My favorite vintage of La Chapelle. Deep nose of forest floor, cranberry, floral notes, mineral, crushed rocks and specifically granite, very very aromatic. Like wow. Palate is bright and energetic, with terrific fruit, sap and intensity. What vivid fruit. Special wine. What a core of fruit and terrific juicy structure. Elegant tannins and terrific length. Sweet cherry fruit and so many rocks and minerals at the finish. Lingering and pure. Knockout. Has decades to go but a great bottle. — 4 months ago
