Gorgeous, deeply saturated nose of smoky, leathery, gamey Gamay fruit, with red and black cherry, cranberry, sour cherry, desiccated leaves, sous-bois and emerging florals. The palate is lush, silky, generous and incredibly sappy, with explosive tiny-berry red fruit, ripe tannins and terrific granitic freshness. The finish is remarkable, with the pure, high-toned fruit echoing endlessly. Teasing 9.6 as it continues to open.

Aug 22nd, 2026Nose of smoke, leather, black cherry, granite, and more granite. Almost Cornas like. Palate is so clean, so young and so refined. Wow this is ultra clean, squeaky clean and super refined. Stunning purity and elite, sleek tannins. So suave and elegant. This is young but so well made. Will only get better with air. Unreal. Will be back. 9.5 to 9.6 with air. Wow. So refined and amazing granite/ripe fruit balance.

Upon opening, stable scents, but so close to the meadow and to decomposing grass that the manure smell is actually wonderful. This shapeshifts into a bit of beef jerky. And then after that, there is just an avalanche of red and purple fruit. On the nose and the palate. Black plums and cherries, but only just-ripe. Herbs, oriental spices, amaaazing concentration, so crystalline and pure. Serious tannins for gamay. Really next level stuff. And from a vintage I don’t even care for.

Quite unusual.
Nose is plum and a bit of roasted tomato.
Palate is elegant blackberry. Really good. Some spice. Silky.
Not sure if peg this as Beaujolais blind. Not what I’d guess. Likely Cote rotie.
After 90 minutes silky. Burgundy ? Really good. Maybe NSG blind. Bizarre.
