Excellent!Deuxième bouteille de la journée, à refaire ! — 8 days ago
2016 vintage. This is the best Gloria I have ever tasted and quintessential Saint-Julien in this fabulous vintage. Concentrated black fruit, cigar box, floral notes and lead pencil. Margaux meets Pauillac. Powerful and elegant, layered and precise, with juicy acidity and a long mineral finish. Highly recommended. Abv. 13,5%. On release I thought it was superior to its stablemate Saint-Pierre, should try to taste them alongside again. — 18 days ago
OMG what a nose . Heaven. Floral and ripe and so pretty. Like pretty when you see a woman so gorgeous that you just can’t muster up any words. Striking. Unreal lemon and lime. Meyer lemon. But omg the florality. Beautiful discreet oak. Framed so perfectly. Like a filmmaker framing a shot. This nose is 9.9. It’s that easy and that good. Wow. That is concentrated and so deep. Candied and elegant with a superb core of sweet fruit and sweet wood. Impeccable balance. Superb intense and scintillating minerality. More mineral than 18. About as mineral as 19. As this airs the harmony of the nose becomes greater and greater. Wow this is dense and intense. For a wine that is this structured it is graceful a f. — 13 days ago
PYCM younger brother. Very pronounced pear (not my call but I agree), white flowers and ripe white peach, with an underlying lemon pith and subtle nuttiness — 10 days ago
Nose has cooled lemon curd, light apple cider vinegar, cold pineapple, moist moss, oxidized green apple slice, damp clove and very wet grassy notes.
Palate has pineapple core, bruised green pears, faint lanolin, light honey notes, light under-ripe yellow peach and white waxy notes round out the finish.
Double decant with 12H rest. A Saint Aubin for the trending natural wine crowd without being over the top 'natural'. 92-93 Points.
Paired to a grilled slab of Steelhead Trout, perfection.
Nose has fresh green apple peel, warmed yellow apple slice and white waxy notes.
Palate has warm pear, slight honey and under-ripe pineapple.
Much improved; Score change 92>93. — 8 days ago
Showing so well. Just ridiculous. Nose is dark cherries. Some cocoa. Leather. Spice. Serious saddle leather. Mineral and so so aromatic. Palate is so brilliant. Red fruited. Lacey. It’s got and exquisite sweetness to the fruit and an energy to the finish that never stops pumping. Just amazing. — a month ago
Light gold; crisp, honeyed, floral and mineral nose; round palate of ripe fruit with pear and a hint of orange and mineral, and on the lingering finish citrus pith and salinity. — 6 days ago
Big, ripe and opulent nose. Peach, melon, bursting and super ripe but not over the top. But at the edge. Gorgeously balanced and high toned. Honey, custard. Lovely. Palate is ripe, concentrated and the acid is just barely ok. Right at my personal edge. But it’s still fresh from intense minerality. Citrus, peach and minerals on the palate. Superb concentration. The mineral freshness gets more and more intense with air. Makes up for the just ok acid. Lovely stuff. Super long finish. Almost a 9.3. — 3 days ago
