Weak for a #premiercru #burgundy not bad but not great. Fruity and light complexity #pinotnoir aromas of creaminess and malolactic conversion on the nose. Some good red fruits like red cherry and red berries on the palate but it is really two dimensional and lacking a lot of complexity and depth. Alcohol at 14% also seems out of whack. — a month ago
2016 vintage. A wine from the confidential Graves de Vayres appellation in Bordeaux, made by Yves Glotin (Château Goudichaud) who is also president of the Syndicat des Graves de Vayres. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (50/50). Fresh red fruit (cherries, strawberries) and spicy oak in the nose. Medium-bodied, juicy, round and fresh, well-structured without hard edges. Good length with retronasal red fruit and some spiciness. Well worth seeking out and good value at 14 euro. Abv. 13,5%. — 4 days ago
Gorgeous nose of violets, cassis, black fruits, really floral, fresh potting soil, so pretty. Just wafting. Palate is ripe, juicy, tangy and fresh. Sappy and so pure. Youthful and taut but very measured. Really great showing for this wine. Black fruits just burst on the palate with such clarity and purity. Awesome stoniness on the finish. Very refined tannins. Long finish. Much room to improve. — 15 days ago
What a wine. Stunning, ethereal nose of bright mid to late season sappy cherries, cocoa, minerals, huge and airy. Very expansive and pure. Stunning array of layered aromas. All on a bed of rocks and limestone. So so impressive. Incredible density and elegance with classic tell tale Clos des Chenes stoney minerality. Long, chewy and dense with superb purity and structure. Better in 10 years but fun to peek into today. — 2 days ago
Very direct and pure expression of gamay « nature ». Round, with the usual notes of the grape variety, floral, fruit. Quite discreet aging notes. Very pleasant as an aperitif, as much as light vegetarian dishes, pizza, fish ...
— 9 days ago
Airy with lots of aromatic floral nuances and generous red/black fruits. 2018 is very opulent! The carbonic maceration which gives this English-sweet side characteristic of Beaujolais is here associated with an aging giving it a subtle Burgundy character which suggests a good aging potential over 3, 4 years. A sure value on Beaujolais.
— 8 days ago
I sacrilegiously had this chambré. Sorry. HOWEVER, it was fantastic, the acidity was still on show (I'd have been open to more) and pears had become almonds honey and roses. Long finish, complex, dry, satisfying. Definitely stick it in the garage for an hour or two first. — 2 days ago
