This is a tasty and elegant Chardonnay from Carneros.
Dry on the palate with medium acidity. Buttery and elegant.
Showing citrus, oak, vanilla, spices, overripe pears, yellow apples, light earth and limes.
Nice length on the finish with limes and black pepper.
Spicy and interesting. Good by itself or with food.
This oaky Chardonnay is very good right out of the bottle, but needs an hour to chill and relax. Still young and would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.
I paired it with a beautiful view on the lake.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

A light and fruity note on the nose. A beautiful Pinot with just the balanced acidity and flavor. I’m tasting blueberry, raspberries, a touch of sour cherries and, soft leather. I was pleasantly surprised at the affordable price and the older vintage; I feel like this wine has come of age. — 3 days ago
This was one of the red wines I served for my annual WWC hosting, alongside a 2016 Pellegrin Gamay, 2017 Chacra CyC, and 2015 Force Majeure estate Syrah.
As all wines are tasted blind, I totally get the guesses of Cayuse-like Syrah. The 100% whole cluster use here is undeniably distinct. For the most part, it seems to be a love it or hate it style (I love it). By the time we all got to this, it had been in the glass 1-2hrs. Deep purple, with massive stemmy/green aromatics that hit you in the face. Wintergreen notes, too. On the palate, it’s funky, herbal, spice driven notes wrapped around underripe blackberries and rhubarb. This is a floral, savory, spicy Syrah at 8yrs that seems crazy youthful. Likely hangs in this window for a while. Bravo, Mike Smith. — 24 days ago
Day 3 and this has just extended and expanded its wings. As it has evolved over the weekend, notes of butterscotch and raw cane sugar emerge. Such a wonderful expression of the valley, which many can afford to indulge.
Wagyu NY strip in the foreground after sous vide. Ready to be finished in our cast iron skillet with smoked sea salt 🤗 — 9 hours ago
Strawberry leaf, white peach, and lime zest. Rich, creamy, yeasty notes of grilled bread. Vanilla. Nice mouthfeel, well balanced. Drinking this on the verge of the autumnal equinox, for which it seemed perfect. — 7 hours ago
Barnett Vineyards Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay 2019: Medium-body. Great structure & balance. Round & rich flavors. Citrus. Apple. Stone fruit. Honey. Oak. Butter. Spiced cream. All in all, a juicy & complex CA Chardonnay; exceptional on all fronts! Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 days ago
Enticing Pinot. Intense burgundy color with baked red cherries and leather notes on the nose. The pallet has soft fruit, bright acidity which is beautifully balanced with earthyness that just keeps you salivating way beyond the finish. Slight hints of cocoa and oak of the mid pallet as well. Quintessential Carneros Pinot, but then again, I’ve loved most Hyde Vineyard wines I’ve tasted. — 12 days ago
