Barossa Valley

Bin 150 Marananga Barossa Valley Shiraz 2008

A rich dark crimson in colour. A smoky creosote mocha aroma - plenty of charred oak. Sweet black fruits on the full bodied palate with blackberry and black cherry. A very Penfolds Barossa red. 2008 is the first vintage Penfolds made of the Bin 150. Marananga being a sub district of the Barossa and a noted source of old vine fruit. Typically, this is a pup, at 13 years of age and will cruise to 2030 and probably beyond. — 8 days ago

When I see the name Marananga, all I think of is "Brass Band"! 😁

Hoffman Dallwitz Little Wine #8 Syrah

Amazingly plush fruited, blackcurrent, raspberry, violet, widely spread on the palette, licorice, a bit of sarsaparilla, spice, ripe pillowy tannin with great length. Great freshness given the spread of vintages in this. — 5 days ago

Two Hands

Coach House Block Single Vineyard Seppeltsfield Road Greenock Shiraz 2015

Rich, with a very jammy edge. Lacking some backbone and started to become flat after two hours. Still an experience. — 6 days ago

We have no idea how we came across this wine but it was delicious and then we wanted more! Rich in berry fruit, liquorice and chocolate notes. Would definitely drink again! — 14 days ago

Mataro Barossa Valley 2005

I don’t know if Sabine Deisen is still making wine, but she was an incredible character when I met her years ago on her farm. Artist/landscaper w/some type of science background: she was making serious juice: all her wines are PURE, velvety, elegant, balanced w/gorgeous concentration & expression. This Mataro was no different. All the black & blue fruit was liqueur like, just absolutely fantastic. Seamless and endless. — 20 days ago
