La Moussière Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2022

The rare Sancerre that I like. This had terrific minerality. None of the cat pee that most Sauvignon Blancs have. — 9 days ago

En Grands Champs Sancerre Pinot Noir 2011

Haven’t had much luck with red Sancerre until tonight at Blanchard’s in Anguilla (worth a diversion!). Velvety, powerful and mushroom-weighted with age, black tea, gritty minerality. So nice. Drink up. — 5 months ago

Clos Alphonse Dubreuil

Cotes-De-Bourg Red Bordeaux Blend 1999

1999 vintage. Pascal Montaut is one of the greatest winemakers in Blaye ( Jonqueyres), but he is currently retired and sold his estate. Up to the final 2010 vintage, he also produced a microscopic quantity of an atypical Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Côtes de Bourg that tastes more like a Saint-Estèphe. Superb quality in this generally mediocre vintage. Still a solid colour. Cassis, graphite, leather and subtle floral hints.. Amazingly fresh and vibrant in the mouth with juicy black fruit in a ripe tannic frame and a longfinish with retronasal fruit and dark chocolate. Impressive. Abv. 13,5%. — 5 months ago
