Very light and smooth Loire valley Pinot Noir, with fine tannin and medium acidity, served with venison at Earth at Hidden Pond, Kennebunkport, ME — 6 months ago
Light, bright, acidic, lemon-lime citrus - almost yuzu, stone. Great little white & flows along with chicken cordon & steamed broccoli. Will drink a lot of this at $16 — 4 months ago
1999 vintage. Pascal Montaut is one of the greatest winemakers in Blaye ( Jonqueyres), but he is currently retired and sold his estate. Up to the final 2010 vintage, he also produced a microscopic quantity of an atypical Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Côtes de Bourg that tastes more like a Saint-Estèphe. Superb quality in this generally mediocre vintage. Still a solid colour. Cassis, graphite, leather and subtle floral hints.. Amazingly fresh and vibrant in the mouth with juicy black fruit in a ripe tannic frame and a longfinish with retronasal fruit and dark chocolate. Impressive. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 years ago
This pours a darker, more saturated color than any Sancerre Rouge I’ve ever seen. The nose is big and boisterous, with dark, intense and sappy cherry fruit, a meaty element, and a big whack of limestone minerality. Full and tannic in the mouth. Not exactly a summer sipper. Deeply mineral in flavor profile. Ends on a slightly bitterish, extracted note, with a bit of the 14.5% alcohol showing through. Very good but atypical. Seems like it needs at least a few more years in the cellar to take the edge off, but I’m not sure the fruit will survive more than a couple more before the alcohol burns through it. — 2 months ago
Found this 2022 pleasing. Not trying to be a new world SB. Steely , bright, tart orchard fruits with hints of lime and quince. Wish the price was lower than $39. — 4 months ago

Labeled as a Vin de France. This wine is tinted pale yellow. The nose is gentle and fragrant, it does not come on strong like a New World Sauv Blanc. There is restrained minerality and a restful, floral salinity about the aromas. The palate has lemon, lime and only a hint of grapefruit up front, but all that citrus lays low and allows the smooth salinity to call its shot. Acidity is fresh, almost not noticed. I will have this as an aperitif or chilled on the porch on a hot summer day.
