No 25. Solid, but secretly hoped for more given the reviews and the '08 base — a day ago

25 Anni Sagrantino di Montefalco 2019

Still on the young side but already revealing it’s greatness. Additional cellartime will make this an exceptional beauty. Quite serious tannic backbone and some alcoholic heat. Time should make them blend — 3 months ago

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron

Baron de Pichon-Longueville Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Incredible depth and breadth on this 25 year old. Still boasting tannins that are round and firm. Meaty, chewy and impeccable, with a bresaola nose, dried blackberry, cassis, chocolate, espresso, cedar and tobacco. Black cherry, graphite, maduro cigar, blackberry, and bay.

Trento Brut Chardonnay

Popped and poured; enjoyed with brunch. The Trento Brut pours a light straw color with persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of yellow apple, white peach, fresh brioche, lemon curd and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. Easily some of the best bubbles available for $25. Disgorged in 2024. Drink now. — 8 months ago

Silver Oak

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

We had the 2012 Vintage on 7/12-13/25. With 13 Years of aging, all the tannins have been smoothed out. Tastes of blueberry, plum, leather and spice. Medium to full bodied. Still fruit forward. Very good — 3 months ago

Rosé Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

Light peach in color.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate and complex.

Showing limes, green apples, herbs, earth, yeast, brioche, light strawberries, spices, minerals and white pepper.

Nice finish, elegant and easy drinking.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with fried shrimp and calamari.

A blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier. Bottled in 2009 and disgorged in 2017.

12% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$80.

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021

Very pleasant blend out of Pauillac; 67% Cab Sauv, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cab Franc work so harmoniously together that delivers an enjoyable medley of red berries and black currant aromas and taste. This particular wine has been aged for 18 months in 75% new wood French barrels, which shows it finesse and precision on the elegant finish and mouthfeel. Unbelievably smooth and noble on the palate. Enticing finish and incredibly structured tannins. This wine can age beautifully! — 7 months ago
