Crushed wild strawberries, lavender and cedar shavings form an inviting bouquet as the 2021 Pinot Noir VGR blossoms in the glass. This opens with a lovely inner sweetness, casting ripe red fruits across a cooling acid core. It finishes long and potent yet with admirable freshness, leaving hints of licorice and the slightest tug of fine tannin. This is a fun and energetic Pinot geared toward accessibility. The VGR (very good red) blends three vineyards: Shea, Stardance and Rich Hermann. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

Side by side with the 00 Cheval Blanc. Showed really well! Took 1.5 hrs in decanter/glass to really show its stripes. — 3 years ago
Opened way to early obviously but wanted to try a single vineyard from this producer. I will not open the other bottle for a few years. Great acidity and lots of citrus, crushed white rocks and green apples and pears. Some reduction when opened but blew off in 30 minutes. — 4 months ago
Apple cider vinegar, cloud burst, 00 pizza flour. Slight funk $35 waves. — 8 months ago
Stunningly good at 22 years old. Deep and dense. Soil’y with aromas of black currant and bittersweet chocolate. I’ve been enjoying a lot of 00-05 medoc wines lately. While not mind blowing they are wonderful all alone or with the right food. Shows what a $30 bottle from a great terroir / producer is capable of. Not every wine needs to cost hundreds of dollars to be enjoyable — 2 years ago
