Ruby coloration with some translucency. On the nose, cherry, strawberry and raspberry with hints of balsamic. On the palate, tannins are still present after 10 years and holding their own. The flavors are layered with oak, followed by balsamic and the fruit and minerals. On the palate, the wine has definite power, but drinks as something delicate, elegant and complex. The finish carries on for a long time and I found this wine to be a nice surprise.
