Not sure if the grapes from this Bordeaux blend are from this area of Michigan and didn’t realize it was this old. Has held up well. Lots of tannins and acidity. Plums and dark chocolate. — 8 months ago

Nose is red cherries, licorice, limestone, woodland berries, wet forest floor and dampen earthy scents. Great floral depth as well. Palate is juicy, clean and ripe. Tannins are significant, pure and velvety but also have a tiny hard edge. Juicy depth of lovely tangy cherries persist on the long finish. Tannins are a bit drying as this airs. Terrific nose of wet earth and dark cherries. Very expressive. Lovely nose. Got this it a good moment. Palate is elegant and complex with terrific fruit clarity. Great concentration and persistence. Shows the low yield character of 16. So fresh and huge acidity. Needs air. But wow Girard is so consistent. After air loads of mulberry and woodland berry. — 2 years ago
