Elk Cove Vineyards

Five Mountain Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2022

2022 vintage. Last tasted 4.17.24 (9.1). This grew up quickly...filled out in all the right places with the smoke, plum flavors/scents tabulating receipts. Not quite as much body as their La Bohème effort but close behind. Newish AVA. 03.19.25. — 13 days ago

Côte à Côte Willow Creek District Red Blend 2016

Distinctly a central coast wine. Absolutely delicious red fruit with spices, long silky tannins. At the nine year mark, it definitely needed the age to come to fruition. — 25 days ago

Pale lemon color with aromas of stone, tropical and citrus fruits with yeasty notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apples, apricot, citrus and slight spicy character. Lively acidity, medium finish ending with fruit character with mineral tones. — 17 days ago

Savage Grace

Red Willow Vineyard Blanc Franc 2022

First pouring of vintage. Label promises flavors of preserved lemon, key lime and thyme. Processing included brief skin contact, then whole cluster pressing and native yeast fermentation. Some skin tannin astringency on finish. Aromas and flavors are accurate. Good acidity but skin tannins do shape the wine - not quite an orange wine, not quite a white. A stylish Blanc de noir, then. After two hours, the skin tannins soften and the wine drinks really well, with a harmonious blend of softness and fruit. Decant accordingly with a touch of chill to the wine — 2 months ago
