Founder Nicky Hahn, grew up speaking German. In his native language, the word ‘Hahn’ means rooster, which is why a depiction of this bird has always graced the label of his wines. Aromas of dark berry fruits with sweet dried spice notes. On the palate cherry and blueberry with oaky notes, cacao and sweet spice. Fine grippy tannins, savory, lingering ending with fruit and mineral tones. Nice value! — 6 days ago
Happy 4th of July to everyone. We have been experiencing a bit of heat here in the Chicago area and I have decided to open the 2013 Talbott Logan Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands of California.
On the nose I am able to tell there is pineapple, lemon, pear, honeysuckle, almond and a good amount of minerality.
The palate has lemon, apple, white peach, pear, minerality and wet flint rock.
This wine is dry, medium bodied whit a creamy mouthfeel and medium + acidity that leads into a mineral driven medium to long finish. Please be safe tonight while enjoying your holiday festivities. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 11 days ago
Good for $14.99. Not as good as their Sierra Mar but, still nice. The Sierra Mar is worth $10 more a bottle.
Not as rich, thick, creamy or buttery and less minerality, lacks some of the white spice and chalkiness the Sierra Mar shows.
Works well with our cheeses and the Giants who are on a roll tonight. My sister is at the game and lovin’ it. Grand slam always helps.
