Vino Del Paso

Ridge Vineyards

Benito Dusi Ranch Paso Robles Zinfandel 2021

No sediment, so I popped and poured. Explosive nose has super-deep, pure spicy blackberry Zin fruit. Purity of fruit is a hallmark (in my experience) of Ridge’s Dusi Ranch cuvée. There’s also a bit of clove from the American oak, but it’s pretty subtle. Great intensity of flavor in the mouth, with a soft, enveloping texture. It’s big, at 14.8%, but it’s balanced. And keeping things under 15 in Paso is challenging. Terrific wine. Yummo. — 10 days ago

Field Recordings

Fiction Paso Robles Zinfandel Blend 2023

this is our recent go-to for steak night — it’s a healthy balance of earthy and fruity and is complicated but in a way that works well as a table wine. win-win! — 2 days ago

Cantina Zaccagnini

Il Vino Dal Tralcetto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2021

Berry forward, complex, full bodied with just a hint of chocolate and oak. Easy drinking but stands up to whatever you're pairing it with. Was the go-to wine for my late grandmother and I see why. I would absolutely drink this again and raise a glass to her. — 3 days ago
